Browse Forums General Discussion Re: upgrade of stormwater to 100mm 2Apr 25, 2009 8:17 pm I'm not sure if it's the same thing because the wording is completely different..... but PD are proving a riser pipe that connects to the stormwater at the side of the front garage door opening and the rear garage door opening so that when we put our driveway and path in a drain can be layed acrosss the doorways and the connection to the stormwater will be there already. That's the only thing I can think they mean... but like I said our wording was different and it was included in our site costs so I'm not really sure. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: upgrade of stormwater to 100mm 3Apr 25, 2009 8:58 pm Joles, You're referring to a stormwater sleeve. It is used to transfer stormwater from back of the house to front of the house when house is built on a boundary. It's set under the slab Chris Re: upgrade of stormwater to 100mm 4Apr 25, 2009 9:01 pm ChrisL Joles, You're referring to a stormwater sleeve. I'm not sure yours is the same thing as mine. That was just a guess. Can you ask them to explain it more clearly to you so that you understand? It's not a silly question and you have the right to understand exactly what you are paying for. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: upgrade of stormwater to 100mm 10Apr 26, 2009 12:55 am normally builder/plumber supplier 90mm storm water. However because there is a 'future' driveway planned. They are upgrading to 100mm on yourbehalf so that it will be strong enough to a a concrete drive way above and not just pedistrian traffic. ie 100mm pipe is much stronger than 90mm pipe. Take a look yourself the walls are much thicker that the 90mm pipe. Not too sure if it would cost that much though. Plumbers 'can be' plumbers, made all the worse by self certification which the building surveyor invariably accepts as proof of compliance! The good thing is that you know know. 3 4873 Grab a hose, insert it at the top of the inlet/down pipe and turn the water on and see where the water is escaping from. Then you'll know. 3 8490 in the stormwater pit or the drain? Those dont look like theyd fit in the drain. Separately, the pits do get stuff in them during the course of the build.
