Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 25, 2009 7:03 pm Normally i go to the Dulux Inspirations store to buy paint as I had always had a low view on Bunnings paints section after some previous experiences. Today the Dulux store was shut and I really wanted to get some paint and start painting my hallway. Prob was I still hadnt decided if I was getting Dulux Hog Bristle 1/2 or Bone White. I coyly asked the girl if the Hogs Bristle would appear pinkish in the dark areas of the hallway and she entered into a detailed descroiption of each of my choices, what they contain, how they will appear in light and dark areas and what my options were today. After deciding I didnt want any pink undertones she suggested the Bone White. She also suggested that full strength Bone White may be too dark for the look I wanted. So she tinted a 4 litre to half specs and then painted some on to Antique White USA coulur chip, which I am using for trims. She dried it with a hot air gun, showed me and I was convinced on getting half strength. I got the paint home and did a first coat and it is everything she said it would be. I am really happy. I have been agonising for weeks over those colours and the Bunnings girl made life so much easier. Next time I go in I'll tell her manager and give the girl some praise. Just thought I would share that. Re: Good experience at Bunnings 2Apr 25, 2009 7:22 pm Colsy, Always glad to hear good stories. I find that if you are actually talking to the Bunnings expert, you generally find a good answer. Problem is when the expert is away or not available, then you can get some really bad advice. I've come across this numerous times, and shaken my head in disbelief. Chris Re: Good experience at Bunnings 3Apr 25, 2009 8:13 pm Hi Colsy good to hear, that you got some good advice at Bunnnings, nothing worse than choosing paint colors This is proberly getting off the topic but Comparing Bunnings with MITRE TEN i would choose the later anyday. Every time i go to Mitre Ten in Pakky they always come up to you and ask you whether you need any help. and they really help you fantastic service But my experience with Bunnings is you have to go and ask for help. Lots of staff walking around but thats about it. And a Bunnings is being built across the rd from the Lake side estate ( which is walking distance for me) in Pakky I wont go there i will give my custom to Mitre 10 and thats a drive.
