Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 18, 2009 6:46 pm We have a council that is attempting to impose a set of brick colours mostly of cream, yellow and gold on the basis that as our part of the estate is visible from the highway (2k's away) as people approach the town then these colours will make our house less obvious. I disagree with this view, especially when the brick is in contrast with the roofing colour. Additionally I am of the view that the light colour bricks would also contrast with the trees behind the house. I believe a medium brown brick; in this instance the Austral Symmetry: Earth with a Ironstone grey colorbond roof will be less visible than a cream coloured brick and almost any colour roof. I am hoping that someone might be able to point me to any information supporting that theory of a darker house being less obvious from a distance and/or pictures of houses from a distance that would show how a lighter colour house is more visible than a darker coloured one.
