At this point I'm considering the money gone, but I will make further enquiries. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 42Apr 12, 2009 5:39 pm As part of our package we are supposed to be getting Kleenmaid appliances - rangehood, oven, cooktop, and dishwasher. Guess that's not happening now - and I certainly don't want products with no warranty. I so pray this doesn't hold up handover. But my problems are a hiccup compared to those who've shelled out money and might have lost it. I can empathise as something similar happened to me with a furniture company a few years ago and I was left seething and frustrated because I couldn't do anything. And a load more people lost their jobs which is terrible too. Bad luck guys - it isn't fair. Fi has moved in!! So so sorry again joles, was praying for a good outcome for you Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 44Apr 12, 2009 8:13 pm Thanks SuH. Brittany, your builder will have to provide some thing in leiu of the Kleenmaid. Someone said NBG have gone to Blanco in the new promo... actually looking at yesterday's Home mag they have. You'll be happy with Blanco. Even though you won't have actually lost money, I'm sure you were looking forward to them as much as I was looking forward to mine. We're all in the same boat. I can at least get PD to install their standard appliances, which are also Blanco (we were going to just take delivery then sell them). So we are not actually that bad off either. Poor ellyash I think has it the toughest, as she has no builder to help her out. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 45Apr 12, 2009 11:39 pm Hi guys, Jo and Andrea - sorry we haven't had better news! I would like to say though, it is really lovely of everyone to come in and sympathise. I know in the scheme of things its not the biggest problem in the world but it still is a kick in the face. Judie, I can't imagine what you have been through - I hope it all works out for you. I am going to have to shop around for a new rangehood as othrwise its going to hold up our handover and we have a tight settlement date as it is. Its also an extra expense at the moment. The coffee machine I think we'll just leave for now and replace down the track when we can, however the rangehood needs to be in for the splashback to be ordered. Anyway, wishing everyone all the best. I will be on the phone to my local guy on Tuesday to see if anything can be done. Wonder if they'll be there?? I drove past and noticed a rangehood in store set up.. hmm...? Sarz Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 46Apr 12, 2009 11:43 pm Also wishing everyone the best who have been caught up in this one. I went past the Kleenmaid shop near my place today; there are heaps of appliances just stacked up against the walls, I wonder what they intend to do with them if not give them to the customers who have paid for them? If I'd paid in full for them, yes, a warranty-less appliance would be better than nothing! Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 49Apr 13, 2009 12:06 am Sarzy, are you covered by your builder? Or will you have to foot the bill for the extra appliances? I hope it's not the latter. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 50Apr 13, 2009 12:10 am Absolutely Matt, I definitely would still want them! However I would prefer money back.. I do believe they are good quality products, although agreed the 10 yr warranty was a selling point. I definitely wouldn't have ordered such top shelf products if I thought the warranty and after sales service weren't going to be there! At the Valley shop, there were some people re-buying products they had already paid for but not received There was no way I was going to do that, even tho the sales people were saying it was very unlikely the products wouldn't ever turn up. The principal of that kills me! Brittany - I'm sure your builder will simply replace the products so shouldn't be a problem hopefully Jo - no, we were buying the products ourselves and were deleting the builders appliances so sadly we will have to pay Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 51Apr 13, 2009 7:32 pm actually if you have the receipt for fully paid appliances you own them not kleenmaid. I remember back years ago when fairstar computers went under, people had their pc's in the store for repairs took them about 6 months but they eventually got them back. Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 52Apr 13, 2009 7:41 pm rosewood actually if you have the receipt for fully paid appliances you own them not kleenmaid. I remember back years ago when fairstar computers went under, people had their pc's in the store for repairs took them about 6 months but they eventually got them back. Hmmm... I'm building and have to have cabinetry made to fit. I can't take the chance that I'll one day get them. I don't want to end up with a kitchen that's unusable. If I eventually get them I guess I'll sell them on ebay or else have one hell of an outdoor kitchen! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Sarz Sarz - do you think they will be able to give the display models in place of brand new ones? I realise it's not quite the same as having something brand-spanking-new - but atleast it's the same style/model. (Was this what you were thinking?) Wonder who would get dibs... Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 54Apr 14, 2009 7:42 am The display models will be counted as assets and sold. The money paid to the receivers first, then to secured creditors. Sorry to hear of you predicament gang. I do sympathize with you. We only have a GE fridge (from Kleenmaid) and I only just last week noticed a rusting screw and a droplet of water in the door and I was going to arrange a warranty call out this week That obviously won't be happening. Kleenmaid has recently been sending us letters and offers to upgrade our fridge warranty. The deal would have been, we send them $800 and they give us another 5 year warranty. I'm glad I kept the cash in my pocket Perhaps if you are in Brisbane, you may wish to try Retrovision at Stones Corner (I think it was retrovision) We bought all our Miele appliances there as they were the "seconds" outlet. Mainly ex-display and all unmarked and all with a 2 year warranty and we were able to get a full package (about $25k new) for about $15k. Might be worth a try. I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken! Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 55Apr 14, 2009 8:02 am I have finally just got on to the company that was supposed to deliver my appliances last Tuesday. The man told me that the driver had been advised not to deliver - SO CLOSE YET SO FAR from getting our stuff. I am assuming that the appliances will Quote: counted as assets and sold Quote: rosewood I will go and try head office now but I don't expect them to be open yet. Mind you all I am expecting is the same info everyone else will get, a well rehersed line from one of the poor people in the office today. I do feel sorry for them. Quote: Jo Andrea I just tried calling head office it a message referred me to their website. There is a message there telling us to send an email with any enquiries. Otherwise we will recieve a letter shortly! Better news is that I got in touch with the delivery driver, it seems the only reason he didn't deliver was because he didn't get hold of me personally, he left a message. So he told me because the items were there with my name on them I could probably go to their warehouse and pick up my range hood and stove. I called the warehouse and the guy said he would need confirmation from his boss, but if the items were there with my name on them then I should be able to get them! They are calling back at 8:30. As far as I am concerned Kleenmaid would assume they were delivered so I can't see a problem with that. The poor delivery driver is owed $22 000. Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 57Apr 14, 2009 10:08 am The logistics company are holding my products and will not release them at all. I got quite cranky and stated that it is because of them and their poor communication last week that I do not have my items. Tuesday was the last day that they delivered any Kleenmaid products. If the delivery driver had left me a return number then I could have called him and I would have my items. I basically turned it on him and said that if they had done their job correctly then I would have my items. I sat around waiting all day last Tuesday for the items. I have told him that I want to speak to the manager personally. Does anyone know where I stand? They are my items, I paid for them in January. Am I in my right to demand the products? I know they are owed a lot of money by Kleenmaid but I need to look out for myself here. Any ideas on what I can do would be appreciated. Andrea Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 58Apr 14, 2009 12:21 pm Hi Ellyash Is it worth contacting your legal advice centre or consumer affairs centre in Brisbane just to get some idea where you stand legally on this. For a few more dollars maybe a solicitors letter could get you those items a bit quicker seeing you are dealing with the logistics company and not Kleenmaid themselves. Kleenmaid I doubt you could do anything because that would be in the hands of the administrators, but the logistics company was already delivering the items and currently have them so the intention was there. I just think maybe a solicitors letter might put the wind up them a bit. I just can't see how they can hold the items because they are not theirs, they are just providing the delivery service. The issue about money is with Kleenmaid and if the items are boxed up with your name on them, isn't it theft if they try to hold on to them. I really think legal advice is what you need at this time. I'm sorry you are in this situation, nobody needs the added stress. I really hope it works out for you. Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 59Apr 14, 2009 12:50 pm what i dont understand about companies going under is why they are not charged with theft.if i sell on ebay and dont provide the goods and spend your money but cant refund you or provide the goods im dam sure the police would be knocking on my door.but kleenmaid knew they were in trouble in october last year yet continued to sell goods and even to sell franchises its just criminal and they should be charged with theft. a 30% off sale at xmas what a joke they knew then the aplliances wouldnt be there. the manufacturer would have told them no more orders till they pay up yet they continue to sell.its truly unbelievable and our government should step in to help the average joe. <edited - admin - please refrain from speculation>.from now on if i want a product if they cant give it to me there and then im not giving them a cent they can order it in and ring me when they have it. im sorry to all the people who have lost their money. stay safe happy building Re: Anyone else waiting for their Kleenmaid Products? 60Apr 14, 2009 7:16 pm wow just saw on news how one guy brought stuff last week at 50% off but never got the goods. the police said it was a civil matter how is that not stealing please answer that.how can you offer goods for sale at 50% off knowing they would never get them.THATS THEFT stay safe happy building A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor.
