Sheds,garages,carport and any other steel building ect

Most of them wont do the whole job.I think what you have to look for is there building licence number in any advertisments,as if they build the sheds and do the slab they have to display this.The thing alot of people have been talking about is these companies say they will suppliy a list of erectors after you pay your deposit and the list they do provide,none of the guys will do the job for the price you have been told and also alot of them wont even erect sheds for the company that has provided there name.It's all empty promises

Hi, just thought I would give you my thoughts as one of the terrible "kit" suppliers.

The industry as a whole is good, but like all industries some members (I won't name any names in a public forum) wreck it for the rest of us.

Yes some buildings collapse- usually the fault of the builder- the engineering that goes into the building doesn't allow for it to collapse as there are at least 2 layers of checks that prevent it happening- the manufacturer of the product ie Lysaght/Stramit has their specification, then the engineer reviews this and to save his *** he adds his safe measure, at the end of the day he is the one to getting sued if it falls down, not the supplier. Make sure that the engineer the company uses is registered in your state- they should have registration for all states and territories- if they don't or the company uses different engineers, why would that be??

Yes we have to sell the kits as cheaply as possible, I have had experience of customers phoning in excess of 30 suppliers to save $20. Steelway don't like to do this and we usually add more product than the minimum, yes it outprices us on some jobs but we can sleep knowing that tommorow our sheds haven't killed someone.

FairDinkumSheds is a buying group with distributors in different areas- just because one distributor does something doesn't mean they all do. We are part of this group but for fear of getting tainted by another distributor we don't refer to Fairdinkum in advertising.

Just because a company has a licensed builder contracting direct to them (ie they advertise with the license number) instead of direct to the client doesn't make any difference. All customers should use a licensed builder or have an owner builders license.

In all cases you are buying a kit- whether they give you a list or have a contract builder. Just remember shed builders are shed builders because they either choose not to be house builders or can't be house builders. We only use ones that are realiable and most of these solely work for us and we will put you in direct contact with them as soon as you have an intention to buy from us. Most won't build your shed if you bought elsewhere due to our good reputation.

Why use a kit company that only gives you a name- You get a better job! The shed company doesn't get a cut, so the builder ends up with more in his pocket, you pay less as you aren't paying the middle man, and if you are holding the money the builder will do the job right so he gets paid- if you hand it all over to the company you have nothing left to bargain with.

Shed company's don't charge enough for the kit to build it for you as well, thats why you pay the builder if the builer doesn't know how to build it, what are you paying him for. We do everything we can to help you but at the end of the day if you/your builder don't read the plans or instructions there is only so much we can do to help.

If you follow the instructions from the manufacturers you shouldn't have any problems.... a lot of the problems stem from the tallents / capabilities of the person putting the shed up.

Here in Qld you have Titan.. and Adro and a couple of others, most will be happy to quote you for concrete and erection and most guarantee their product.
