Same for us, there wasn't anything that we felt excited about as there wasn't that much too see for us volume home builder (maybe if your a OB there might be something useful). All those 'on special' slow cookers etc.. you can buy cheaper elsewhere without trying. I kept wondering where is the broom stand as we somehow missed it. I though they were freebies. Re: Home Ideas Show Melbourne 15-19April 2009 85Apr 20, 2009 12:54 pm a little trick about sprukers (however its spelt) a friend used to be one so we know. they have 4-5 plants in the crowd and as soon as the demonstration is over these 5 people instantly purchase the product it gets the innocent bystanders thinking wow it must be cheap or good and they buy on impulse. the guy that ran the chamois stand used to do the auctions in the city in swanston street about 20 years ago i brought so much stuff from him until i found out lol. stay safe happy building Re: Home Ideas Show Melbourne 15-19April 2009 86Apr 20, 2009 1:18 pm bingoshelley a little trick about sprukers (however its spelt) a friend used to be one so we know. they have 4-5 plants in the crowd and as soon as the demonstration is over these 5 people instantly purchase the product it gets the innocent bystanders thinking wow it must be cheap or good and they buy on impulse. the guy that ran the chamois stand used to do the auctions in the city in swanston street about 20 years ago i brought so much stuff from him until i found out lol. Yeah that guy was ******* as I thought!! I didn't see his spiel or anything but as I walked past there were soooooooo many people with the correct money buying them and all I could think of was 'why would I want one THAT big?' When I bought my broom I was the only one there at the stand as she was doing the demo 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Re: Home Ideas Show Melbourne 15-19April 2009 89Apr 20, 2009 8:46 pm Hi All, I haven't done a post for a long time sorry, we are new to the site and currently in the process of deciding on our builder, We went to the Homeshow on Friday which was a great day to go as it wasn't that busy. We found the show to be a good size, only because it was achievable to complete in one day without having to rush to see it all. We found it a little disapointing as well, we didn't think it had many stalls for new Homebuilders. There seemed to be a lot of Doors and Window stalls and alot of gimic stalls. I wasn't one of those that ended up with 2 new brooms I have spoken to a guy who informed me that the best homeshow is the RACV one in August. By then we will need it as we will hopefully be closer to starting our building. Carla Re: Home Ideas Show Melbourne 15-19April 2009 90Apr 22, 2009 10:40 am Why so many under floor heating and attic ladder exhibits?!? We went and were pretty disappointed, highlight of the day was the fantastic hotdog from that centre food place.
