Ok well I have been thinking and thinking about my stairs and the whole stained/painted risers problem....
Anyway today I spoke to our family friend who is painting our current house and he gave me a few ideas...
Also speaking to Mrs B at coffee the other day who suggested rather than staining them (in the teak stain we selected) to just have them put the clear gloss type stuff (what is this called?? )
I thought I would put some pictures up of my staircase - my floorboards will be either Blackbutt or Tassie Oak so fairly light. The stairs and floorboards will be directly next to each other and I'd like them to blend in as much as possible. I am scared the Teak would be too different and so thought the clear gloss over the top might be a better option.
Or are my stairs too light already??
Also my painter suggested just getting them to put the clear coat over the entire staircase and he said he can come over after handover and do the white risers if I decide I want them. I will get back $778 from PD if I decide to do this option also...
Ok so here is the pics - what do people think, would the clear gloss look ok, rather than staining in Teak?
