Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 08, 2009 9:56 am Hi everybody, I need some advice regarding a flood problem. Last Thursday we had about 500mm of rain in just seven hours and the next morning we found the shed surrounded with water, not going anywhere. The shed is sitting on a cut out side downstream from the back boundery towards our dam. The fall is about 2 metres. We were just finished with creating 30 degrees slopes on the South and West allowing a flat area around the slab of 2 meters. We had planned to do a 10 degree slope away from the slab towards the big slope followed by creating a gully leading to our dam but never got that far. The shed's slab is divided in two slabs of 6 x 8 meters and is sitting on a layer of sand. About one day after the flooding we saw the joint becoming moist. So this must mean that water got under the slab and that we are in big trouble, right? Does anybody know how bad it really is and how we can prevent the slab from cracking as the clay starts drying out again in the coming dry season? Every idea/advice will be much appreciated. cheers Re: SHED is flooting, what to do next ? 2Apr 08, 2009 7:46 pm There are heaps of ways to underpin your slab(s)... but first you need to sort out your drainage. ...would have been a lot better to have done that early, using the soil type as a guide to what to do is best. Geo grout, you could google it (There are may 'it's') It is a soil impregnation liquid, that sets hard. Where you are coming from is where you are going to... It's too late already but I have been digging a trench towards the dam, so most of the water is gone (more to come this Easter) and I'll have a Google. cheers i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 16026 Hi all I am looking to run a water line under my concrete footpath which is directly next to my home, was seeing if this is possible without cutting the entire section… 0 20193 Did you know that you can get rugs made from carpet?
