has anyone else had trouble returning any GMC tools since they went under. we tried returning a chainsaw to bunnings and were told they didnt stock them anymore so wouldnt refund or replace the item.despite the fact we had the reciept and the warranty had over a year to go.they gave us GMC'S phone number and basically told hubby bad luck.
well i rang consumer affairs and was told that they had to honour the purchase regardless of wether they stock the items anymore or not.so if bunnings or anywhere else tells you no way 1st ask for the manager then tell him/her that you have spoken with consumer affairs and if they dont honour it you will be putting in a complaint to them.
i just thought how bad is that what if holden goes under and you have a new car warranty the car yards going to tell you bad luck.given the companies collapsing left right and centre lately are we safe to purchase anything of value anymore.
im glad consumer affairs is there to help should this happen.
