Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 02, 2009 3:54 pm Hi Everyone Its time to have a BBQ, get together so we can all meet & greet..I have mentioned this a few times now, but couldnt follow through as the BBQ's near the wetlands were not hooked up Now they are, so lets get it organized.. I was thinking Sunday 19th April, somewhere in the afternoon 2 or 3pm. We can do it later in the month, but i was thinking before it turns to cold.. The following weekend is ANZAC, but there is no public holiday there so it could work (long weekends equal going away).. The plan is to meet at the BBQs, at the end of Marriott Boulevard (closest to Western Port Hwy), bring your own chairs or blankets, food & drinks & get to know you neighbours.. You can stay as long or as short a time as you want.. I will be doing a letterbox drop this weekend for those who are not on H1, so we can meet everyone Does not matter what stage you are in, our kids will more than like go to school together & we might be smiling at each other whilst we are out walking dogs, or ourselves Looking forward to hearing whom can join in the fun nesspop Why am I covered in feathers Re: Marriott Waters residents & land owners BBQ 2Apr 02, 2009 6:06 pm Great idea!! I will def be in if I'm not working on that day. I usually work one day of the weekend, but it varies. But I would be able to know for certain once its close to the date! Hope other MW residences jump on the wagon, it would be a great opp to meet everyone!! Idiots are fun, that's why there is one in every village! - Dr. House - Re: Marriott Waters residents & land owners BBQ 3Apr 03, 2009 9:06 am This is a great idea I'll have to let the man beast know as i'm sure he would be just as enthusiastic to meet out neighbours as I am. We are hoping that settlement will go through for us on the 21st April (but after last weekend when we were robbed and everything from our taps to our bathroom vanity's were stolen, i can be sure if the date will be set back or not..). Either way, we'd love to come down any time for a meet and greet, obviously dependent on the weather Re: Marriott Waters residents & land owners BBQ 4Apr 03, 2009 9:34 am Definitely a good idea! We'll probably be too shy to talk to anyone though!! hehe So sorry to hear about everything getting stolen utopian_goddess. At least it will be covered by the builders insurance and didn't happen when you were living in it!! Still its shocking news ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: Marriott Waters residents & land owners BBQ 5Apr 03, 2009 9:43 am Oh thats terrible news Utopian Godess. Hopefully the builder is quick and gets things sorted out for you! ICK, dont worry, i'm usually really shy too around people. So I might not even talk to anyone either! This is terrible Hubby & I have seen people loading up their cars with timber from frame stages... In broad daylight too cheeky thieving buggers! Hopefully it does not delay you build to long.. I am normally a shy person, however I will say "Hi Im Vanessa ( Nesspop), how are you?" I think that should get the ball rolling Everyone will have to drink some courage juice, that will help nesspop Why am I covered in feathers Re: Marriott Waters residents & land owners BBQ 7Apr 03, 2009 2:56 pm We will be there with bells on unless it's raining of course, is there a wet weather back up or just to postpone it? Should we have some labels to wear with our names on them so we know who is who? or is that too dorky??? Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Ok today is not included.. Thinking of what we could do for a back up plan I am all for dorky... Name tags are fine by me... Work like a woofer ? Paul. Re: Marriott Waters residents & land owners BBQ 10Apr 12, 2009 6:38 pm We might only be able to come for an hour as we want to go to the Homeshow that weekend and I have a dental appt on saturday so I might not feel up to going after that. In which case we will go on sunday after the BBQ. But if I'm feeling ok then we'll go on saturday to the HS. Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: Marriott Waters residents & land owners BBQ 14Apr 14, 2009 8:47 pm I thought most of us would be heading to the home show anyway.. Turns out, our tin roof is arriving on Thursday or Friday, so we can put the roof on the alfresco this weekend too nesspop Why am I covered in feathers Re: Marriott Waters residents & land owners BBQ 15Apr 15, 2009 9:47 am I'm more than happy with that - it's the day before I start my new job at the Ambos Communications, and we'll both be able to make it......Good idee ! Weather looks like crap ! 16Apr 23, 2009 7:34 pm Has anyone read the forecast for Sunday yet ? It's going to be 14 degress, promise of hail and thunder and quite windy....maybe next Sunday might be better ??? Whoever is the organiser, let us know soon - or else we'll be there in the sleet Re: Weather looks like crap ! 17Apr 23, 2009 8:00 pm pauljulian Has anyone read the forecast for Sunday yet ? Whoever is the organiser, let us know soon - or else we'll be there in the sleet I did reply in the other MW thread but I agree as I don't think there will be a very good turn out if the weather is as bad as they predict. However, we will be down there anyway (working at our house installing speaker wiring) so we'll see what happens as we can see the BBQ area from our backyard. Re: Marriott Waters residents & land owners BBQ 18Apr 24, 2009 9:33 pm Ok, I agree, with the weather being cold wet & windy, it not good picnic weather So next weekend would be better.. Now how am I going to inform th 67 residents within the estate I cold put a change of date sign at the first round about in the morning... will that work? nesspop Why am I covered in feathers Re: Marriott Waters residents & land owners BBQ 19Apr 24, 2009 10:07 pm Nesspop - Update all BBQ threads to state that it's now going to be on 3rd May (weather permitting). It can't be on the week after as that's mothers day Also, put a sign up at the BBQ's aswell. Probably not a good idea about the roundabout sign as this may encourage display home lookers to turn up the following week to be nosey The way I see it is that those not living at MW yet will know about it being postponed from the threads and realise not to come. Those living in MW may actually end up at the BBQ area but will see your sign and at least they don't have far to go home again. This way, you will be notifying as many people as possible. I expect it would only be a small turn out anyway if the weather is as bad as predicted. BTW we will be working at the house in the arvo so if anyone wants to pop by and say g'day, please feel free to do so Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new.
