Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 30, 2009 8:33 pm Hello I am really interested in building with Wisdom Homes as we love the Esperence. I would like to know for all those Wisdom Home builders how good is the standard range, e.g. tiles, carper, paints, everything that you get to choose. Pictures, prices of upgrade costs all that sort of stuff. What are your experiences when doing the electrical, colour and other selection appointments. Also is there somewhere I can go to have a look at what is on offer? Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 3Mar 31, 2009 6:02 am Best way to get prices on upgrades is to visit each of the display centres (The Ponds, Elderslie, Minto) - get the brochure on the upgraded items (e.g. the hand held shower rose) and take pics of each. If you want upgrades that are not displayed anywhere - you'll need to email them the product details and they'll take 1-2 weeks to price the item up for you. Those things get expensive - for example - we are upgrading our showers at a cost of almost $900 per shower. Standard tile allowance is $22/m2. You select tiles at frame stage. If you want to look at what costs extra - take a trip out to DiLorenzo. All other colours (internal/external) are selected at contract stage. Standard carpet looks really good - seems to wear well at the display homes - I don't know anyone who has upgraded the carpet. After 4 years - we're in! Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 4Mar 31, 2009 6:06 am Me again - d'oh! The updated standard inclusions are available on their website http://www.wisdomhomes.com.au/inclusions.asp After 4 years - we're in! Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 5Mar 31, 2009 6:26 am Stonecutter, you are all over it. Thankyou for your reply. Anyone else what are your experiences. We definetley like a lot of the displayed options in the Esperence, and wil definatley go with the lifestyle and kitchen promotion. Any ideas on those promotions? The kitchen promo sound pretty good? Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 6Mar 31, 2009 8:04 am On a side note the esperence 26MkII has an optional side outdoor leisure (alfresco) It costs $4,900 the size is 4.30 X 3.00 excluding slab. My question is how much would the additional part of the slab cost to lay and what would the 4,900 include - would it be tiles, electrical or just the foundational items like extended roofing, piers, tiles etc? Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 7Mar 31, 2009 8:19 am gilese Hello I am really interested in building with Wisdom Homes as we love the Esperence. Pictures, prices of upgrade costs all that sort of stuff. What are your experiences when doing the electrical, colour and other selection appointments. Also is there somewhere I can go to have a look at what is on offer? Cheers We're still early in the process (we signed our contract, had our color selection appointment), but my wife and I didn't have any issues with the standard range. I personally disliked the standard carpets but that is only because like every builder I've seen, the standard carpets are 'durable' carpets that don't seem very soft, we are upgrading our carpets but will most likely stick with standard tiles everywhere - we went to di lorenzo to look at tiles and we liked many of the standard ones (or very minor upgrades to increase tile size). Their are so many laminates to choose from the choices seem daunting, but luckily their color consultant was able to help us out a lot and make sure we didn't do anything crazy. Edit: On a side note, the kitchen upgrade is definately worth it, the glass splash back and the ceaserstone is hot. Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 8Mar 31, 2009 10:58 am We upgraded almost everything, no when I come to think of it we did upgrade everything. The carpet came in at $6900 extra & the tiles came in at $14,000 extra, we did get some $$$ taken off but all up its very close to $20,000. That does include the tiling for the Alfresco area out the back which came in at around $3,500. I should be known as the Upgrade Queen I think. We now have a blog. http://allaboutthebuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 9Mar 31, 2009 2:56 pm danma - that is a huge tile upgrade cost! I've got a budget of about $8k - hope we can do it for that. I want all white bathrooms and no featurse - so hopefully that will save us a bit. Just the floor tiles to worry about! After 4 years - we're in! Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 10Mar 31, 2009 4:44 pm Just out of curiosity, when do you pay for the variations (i.e. tiles, etc)? Is it at the end of the build (on the final progress payment - immediately after selection/attached onto progress payments? Just wondering when I can expect our bills for our variations to come in. Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 11Mar 31, 2009 4:48 pm I have lots of questions to come so hope everyone is up for them, I am so enjoying homeone, DP the poor thing she thinks I am spending far to much time one it. She is intending to join to see what it is all about. Anyway to my question, is the Blanco Dishwasher, free standing cooker a good brand? Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 12Mar 31, 2009 6:31 pm MORE QUESTIONS In the kitchen promotion there is the polyurethane kitchen cupboard doors and bar backs? what are bar backs and does this include all cupboard doors in the kitchen? What are Blum Motion soft close kitchen drawers? are these those things that make the drawers not slam? What are Blum Motion soft close kitchen drawers? are these those things that make the drawers not slam? Basically everything that would have been laminated is now polyurethane (if you can, take a look at the impression 38 at ponds, you will see it). The blum motion soft close kitchen drawers are the greatest invention ever, it prevents you from slamming cupboards closed. Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 14Mar 31, 2009 6:48 pm In the Lifestyle package it says 450mm wide eaves to entire home including eaves soffit lining. What is soffit lining. I realise that this option is to upgrade the eaves all around the home, just need to know what this soffit lining is? Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 15Mar 31, 2009 8:15 pm stonecutter1309 danma - that is a huge tile upgrade cost! You should be ok with that, the tiles on the floor (entry, dining, hall, family, kitchen & leisure) the same as at The Ponds came in at $4605.30 We have white wall tiles in all the bathrooms the same as the display they were a bit dearer but our feature tiles were around $440 per m2 so our total wet areas were $5434.60. Then the external area's were $3616.10 that was a small upgrade on the supplied tiles but there is nothing allowed for the alfresco area so most of that cost was there. Then there was the carpet around $6000.00 I got the variation tonight so we have 7 days to pay for it. Are you having the same floor tiles as The Ponds Stonecutter1309? I have our quote for them so I would assume that yours would be a similar price to ours. Anything that is put on after the end panel you have to pay for within 7 days of the variation. We have added heaps of things even this week & I have 2 to pay tomorrow with more to come. We now have a blog. http://allaboutthebuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 16Mar 31, 2009 8:38 pm danma stonecutter1309 danma - that is a huge tile upgrade cost! Hey Danma, How much were the tiles in the main living area at ponds Impresion 38? We were looking at those kind of tiles, just wondering how much that upgrade would cost? (any chance you could pm me with details?). Nav Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 17Mar 31, 2009 8:47 pm How much difference in price as we looking at between tiles in standard range and the next upgrade? Glad I started this thread, lots of difference things to consider are coming out of it, keep it coming. I.e. if we change carpets/tiles we have to pay for them within 7 days of receiving the quote? Just want to confirm (will help with budgeting knowing when we will be paying for the variations). Re: Wisdom Homes Standard Range of Products and Allowances 19Apr 01, 2009 8:12 am How much are the facade's for single story homes, what are the ones that come standard. What is included for an upgrade facade and how much are we talking about? Pictures of current builders homes? Just want to confirm (will help with budgeting knowing when we will be paying for the variations).[/quote] What happens is that Di Lorenzo email you a quote then you either change it or agree to it, you then sign the acceptance and send it back to them (i faxed it), then they send Wisdom a variation and then Wisdom send you a variation. The variation that Wisdom send you has to be paid within 7 days and then when it is paid the tiles should then be ordered or put aside for you. Hope that helps. Nav, I will pm you all the details.
