If its a two storey house, do everything you can think of downstairs. If you have an allowance of X number of lights and X number of powerpoints, put them all downstairs (within reason) you can't easily put new power points in downstairs, so think about where to put them in case of additional's later. eg kids bedrooms. they are usually side by side. if you put one power point in one room on the wall between the two rooms, then its easy to add another in the next room directly behind the original power point. Think of your day to day living. you'll want power points for the things usually forgotten like: vacuuming christmas tree mobile phone chargers lamps. I put a power point just inside each bedroom under under the light switch for vacuuming and easy access. this area doesn't usually get covered by furniture. I can't think of other stuff at the moment (off work with the Adeladian Flu for a few days so my brain isn't working) If I think of more stuff I'll come back to you Licenced Sparky and Data Cabler If "The Data Guys" is too long to type, TDG will do. Re: Need Info: Specs for Electrical Appointment 3Mar 30, 2009 2:20 pm My friends partner is an electrician and he said that you should always aim to get as many power points on the inside walls as possible, as it's easier to put extras on the external walls at a later date. But not the internal ones. Hope that makes sense?? I actually like the idea of having one in each bedroom under the light switch. Hmmmm, adding that to my list now. House has been complete since Feb 2010 Moved in April 2010 Outside completed August 2010 Currently working on the inside, painting, blinds, furniture http://ourhouseinperth.blogspot.com/ Must be labour only.
