I actually like the colours that are already there. What are the surrounding houses like? Maybe you could use that as a guide. Anyway, just bumping this up as I know there are others here who are great at this sort of thing Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: Please suggest exterior colours ( sand federation cottage ) 3Mar 27, 2009 10:35 pm I am not pretending to be one of those that are good at this sort of thing lol, but I also like what is there, very quaint and pretty, but I think the dark roof is too heavy for the light colours underneath. or perhaps its the way of the shadow on the verandah making it seem so. nevertheless, is change of roof colour on the cards? I think a nice dune or surfmist colourbond roof would look dandy. "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. It looks like the roof tiles are not that old so maybe they could paint them a lighter colour instead of replacing? Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. To me the fascias are way too dark for that roof (or is that a shadow?) repaint the fascias, wall, posts, and window frames all the same colour, something light that goes with the roof colour but i'd go for more of a cream tone instead of white. i also think some decorative fretwork might help to add a bit more weight to balance out the roof a bit but im not sure if this is in keeping with this particular style of house. Re: Please suggest exterior colours ( sand federation cottage ) 6Mar 28, 2009 3:00 pm Cute cottage! Some colours that would work, from Dulux (www.dulux.com.au - traditional colours): Mauve Grey Mist Sapphire Blue New England Stone The first two are grey/blue/purple. New England Stone is a beigey, greeny colour. I think they would all complement the house and the surrounding houses. Judie Well these guys are not looking good...
