Our builder said a party brick wall would start today, but then last week he said it would start the Saturday before [2 days ago]. The neighbours said 'no' it can't. But in the end, backed down and the wall started. But it rained so only a small part of the wall commenced. The builder was going to recommence today but 'apparently' the brickie is sick - and will be for 2 days. 1/2 the bricks are on the neighbours land. They said this was OK. But now are angry that the builder has messed up his dates and say if the builder doesn't start the wall tomorrow they want the bricks moved - or they will move them themselves. This is so stressful. What do we do? We are paying for this wall, but the bricks are on their land. The builder is not sticking to his committed dates. What would you do? Lizzie J Re: neighbours and a party brick wall 4Mar 17, 2009 7:15 pm Can you (and your partner?) arrange with the neighbours for a suitable time to move the bricks on to your side and stack them neatly, it won't take long to do if there's a few of you. Plus it will keep the neighbours happy and get them off your back until the builder is ready to commence.
Is this the same neighbours who were complaining about the builder's noise? Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: neighbours and a party brick wall 5Mar 17, 2009 7:22 pm I know people don't see things the same as me, but I can't believe people make a big deal out of these things. I'm in a townhouse at the moment, completely attached to one neighbour.
I would have no problem with them doing renovations if they so desired. It's such a small inconvenience for me for them to have a long term benefit. Sorry, I'm no help to you, but I just don't understand the big deal about a bit of noise. Come and renovate next to me, I won't complain! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 7898 it depends on the natural ground level, if they excavated their boundary wall needed to be built as a retaining wall.
