Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 09, 2009 10:12 pm Hi,
for sometime now ive been looking for houses (2x Storey) that have 2x bedrooms up stairs and a master bedroom + study downstairs, normally its one or the other? basically i want to put the kids rooms upstairs, office and master bdrm downstairs. i have almost finished a custom home plan, has taken me 3 months of R+D to get it right, but i figured i would have 1x last look to see if any builder had a similar plan drawn up already before i go OB! i have seen weeks and peacock, seamed to be the closest to what i was after, few others going around with rawson in canberra too. any thoughts? -Nathan 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Plans/Builder: 2x bdrm's upstairs/2x downstairs? 2Mar 09, 2009 10:18 pm Normally a two story house has living downstairs and bedrooms upstairs, so most volume builders will do it in that way, so you will be hard pressed to find any other setup... Re: Plans/Builder: 2x bdrm's upstairs/2x downstairs? 3Mar 10, 2009 1:43 am Have a look at
Cottesloe from Simonds Brookvale, Marina, Rowland from PD Possibly the Promenade from M'con That's all I have time to look at - but I'm sure the other big builders (Burbank, NBG, DFH etc.) would probably have similar designs... After 2 false starts, a year living overseas, two more world trips and 3 years of uncertainty we are now starting the build process again - hopefully for real this time! Re: Plans/Builder: 2x bdrm's upstairs/2x downstairs? 4Mar 10, 2009 12:42 pm Hellman109 - gotta love it how builders and government like us to conform for our houses to be exactly the same as the one next door! driving through mawson lakes the other day i was amazed to see how similar the houses were and people trying to hide it by simply changing the facade.

Have you had a look at the Ambassador by Henley? They have the master downstairs as well as the study and living areas, but they have 3 other bedrooms upstairs. It's 39 squares and for a 15 or 16 metre wide block. Where are you building? http://www.vic.henley.com.au/#/House/5/FloorPlans/ Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! building in adelaide, planning on doing a knock down rebuild. using insulated concrete forms (ICF's), still havent picked a supplier for them as yet, still working on quotes. -Tim interested in seeing some prices you have for your services -Nathan 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Plans/Builder: 2x bdrm's upstairs/2x downstairs? 8Mar 11, 2009 10:35 pm ok went through the list again, and their was one house that simply blew me away, quite similar layout to my design!
Brookvale 41 house has an abundance of space, good use of concept room for cinema, WIP (wifes happy ) all the other boxes are ticked only 2x things in the way: builder is in victoria toilets are not well designed still the brookvale does seam to have a cult following with large families, we could certainly take out 2x rooms to make it affordable because i am guessing even for the smaller 41 would be at least 280K+ to build.. going to give them a call for more info if it can be made smaller to our budget. -Nathan 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Plans/Builder: 2x bdrm's upstairs/2x downstairs? 9Mar 11, 2009 11:09 pm Hellman109 Normally a two story house has living downstairs and bedrooms upstairs, so most volume builders will do it in that way, so you will be hard pressed to find any other setup... It might be difficult, but they must exist... after all that is half the point of building instead of buying an existing house! Re: Plans/Builder: 2x bdrm's upstairs/2x downstairs? 10Mar 12, 2009 1:09 am Ok - from SA builders
Glenunga and Martindale from Rossdale Miami from Weeks Peacock and that's all I could find (I looked at quite a few builder's websites). Honestly the best thing to do is spend a Saturday going around the display villages because a lot of builders don't put all (or any of) their plans up on their website. Often times a builder has more plans they can show you - or they can tell you on the spot what it will take to change them. Re: Plans/Builder: 2x bdrm's upstairs/2x downstairs? 11Mar 12, 2009 11:22 pm muzzman i wish i posted this 8months ago when we decided to build, would of saved us alot of searching! thanks again

I have a home gym at home. It weights 150KG including the weight stack. I'm a big boy, around 150KG myself. I was thinking about moving it up stairs to the second… 0 6308 Hi Mofflepop, I would recommend finding a building designer to prepare plans, they should design to your specified budget. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20426 |
