It might be this one (from the Boral Elan collection): http://www.boral.com.au/Docs/Project/BricksBlocks/Project_BricksBlocks_20082007_113538.asp?AUD=homeGarden_Bricks Re: What brick is that?? 7Mar 09, 2009 2:56 pm We're actually building with Metricon and we can't seem to find anything in the standard range that we truely love. Could probably settle for the Ironstone but ideally we'd like something a little lighter.
We like the brick used on the Jasper at Mernda, which is an Austral Newport but they quoted us $2781 for the Newport. We have since seen the brick on the Cottlesloe at Craigieburn and and the Olde Ballarat Stone in Caroline Springs - so it's a toss up between these 2 if the upgrade cost isn't too much. Who'd thought selecting bricks would be such a difficult task??? Hope it gets easier from here. Re: What brick is that?? 10Mar 09, 2009 8:10 pm yeah I think that they are La Mesa, if so a friend used them - PD, 42 sq double and were a cat 6 brick. Cost them about $6000 to upgrade. Happy at Home Re: What brick is that?? 11Mar 09, 2009 9:20 pm Don't worry we were stumped on almost every decision to make, well, I say were but we still are with some! We were lucky with bricks as we didn't have any money in the budget left for brick upgrades and there was only one colour in the standard range I liked (Boral Mocha).
When I was going to build with S1monds, were were going to use Newport bricks (Austral), absolutely loved that brick. Is the Newport brick not in the budget? Not sure about price but have you seen Grey Nuance from Boral? Similar colour - just without the 'character' from the blend. La Mesa from Boral is a similar brick to Newport, but looking at it at Borals display it gives off some really pinkish tones - Newport is a more grey blend, so we didn't really like it as much, especially for the price. Brighton, maybe Cotham are probably the closest looking brick to that PD home out of the Austral bricks. Which company makes Olde Ballarat Stone? Don't remember that one. $6k for a brick upgrade.... wow! That seems awfully high! Finally, the Jasper is probably my favourite realistic big M house, I fell in love with the facade in the display booklet! bricks 12Mar 18, 2009 1:36 pm Hey Jasper
we are building the Denver31 with M3tricon. We went for a category 6 brick and it cost us $6554.00. I think from memory there are 2 more higher categories and I think the top range was going to be around $17,000. The 2nd to 6th range only go up around the $1000 per group. Hope this helps. I have got the price list here somewhere if you would like me to dig it out. Its hard to picture it though. Anyone used this combination? Ive seen some pictures which looks like Woodlands Grey with Newport, but not sure. Re: What brick is that?? 17Mar 23, 2009 3:58 pm Gadgetman Thats exactly what we went for Austral Bricks Newport with Woodlands Grey Gutters. Wow, finally I got somebody who has that colour combo. Did you have a tiled or colourbond roof? How does it look? Have you got photos or a blog? Sorry, so many questions, but I'm excited!! Building the "Yarra Studio" by Premier Builders/Longvue Homes.
