Can't wait to have a place for ourselves, which we designed together.
Also looking forward to: - Living in an energy efficient house - Making improvements/changes that we want to make to our own home, not my parents - Not paying rent anymore - Not being the only people we know that are still renting - Having a brand new house that we designed to how we wanted and not having to make major improvements in the future - Most of all I am looking forward to establishing a wow factor garden Energy efficient custom built house - Moving In 3 Weeks most looking forward to 46Mar 12, 2009 11:01 pm * a huge feature kitchen window *direct access to garage *sitting on balcony with a lovely view of the valley with a glass of bubbly in hand *huge mirrored wardrobe in master bedroom *planning a garden design that is low maintenance but amazing to look at hopefully *our timber bifold doors with a huge built in (expensive) flyscreen *entertaining on the alfresco *living in lovely area, quiet but close to the city Re: Looking forward to the most? 47Mar 12, 2009 11:05 pm - Having a decent size ensuite - where we currently rent it is right on the bedroom with half size doors so no privacy
- My walk in robe - currently sharing half a small BIR - Garage with electric door - Home theatre - somewhere to offload DH so I can watch my tv shows not his - our view - having the downstairs as eating and entertaining and all the work stuff and bedrooms hidden away upstairs - not having to move my poor old senile cats ever again (too stressful) - a big bedroom - currently there is just enough space for two bedside tables - my supersized pantry Fi has moved in!! Re: Looking forward to the most? 48Mar 13, 2009 1:35 am Mrs B 10. Absolutely everything!!!!!! I am so sick and tired of renting, the house is a pig sty as there is no motivation to clean at all. I agree wholeheartedly with this. Also: • more than one toilet • hot water that has decent pressure • internal laundry (our old rental had one, this one doesn't) • internal garage access • central air • pool • rumpus room to ditch the teenagers in (we added a door and soundproofing too) • craft room for me • my Mum living with us (she calls me umpteen times a day, usually at the most inconvenient times. In the new house she has her own living room, bedroom and bathroom so we can still get away from each other.) • being able to decorate as we please • room Hopefully our build gets back on track soon. Judie Re: Looking forward to the most? 49Mar 13, 2009 8:27 am Judie • rumpus room to ditch the teenagers in (we added a door and soundproofing too) Judie I also would have added a lock...
