Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Assistance with reno plans please 2Mar 02, 2009 9:22 pm To get a shower to fit, you could combine the wc and make one big bathroom? But I don't know what the lesser of two evils is, a separate wc or having a shower.
With the kitchen, you could relocate the oven to the wall where the pantry is. Then pantry could fit in the corner (due to limited space I'd put overheed cupbords down to the benchtop as my pantry) and finally the sink (and a full height window) where the oven was proposed freeing the breakfast bar. Re: Assistance with reno plans please 4Mar 03, 2009 7:57 am d@n I think I prefer the existing layout mainly due to the fact that people see the kitchen as soon as they enter the home. d@n - do you mean existing as in how it is now pre-reno - or existing as in what the builder has drawn on the proposed plans? Thanks for the suggestion re bathroom, but I'm not keen on the toilet in the bathroom idea - kinda puts the bathroom out of commission when someone wants to use the toilet - not good for morning rush Re: Assistance with reno plans please 6Mar 03, 2009 2:39 pm Briz Ms d@n I think I prefer the existing layout mainly due to the fact that people see the kitchen as soon as they enter the home. d@n - do you mean existing as in how it is now pre-reno - or existing as in what the builder has drawn on the proposed plans? pre reno Briz. Interesting!! I hate the fact that we walk in and look straight at a wall... we feel making the kitchen/lounge/dining open plan would make a small house look a lot bigger and more modern. I guess that's why we all have homes that look different! Thanks for your opinion. Re: Assistance with reno plans please 8Mar 03, 2009 4:43 pm Briz Ms Interesting!! I hate the fact that we walk in and look straight at a wall... Have you tried decorating the wall with something interesting?. I suppose your open plan could work but I just have visions of guests coming to your door and seeing someone in the kitchen cooking. Re: Assistance with reno plans please 9Mar 03, 2009 6:27 pm Yeah I agree d@n, but if its a smaller type house briz should give the open plan look a go - and I think it will look pretty good!
