Still for the building permit from council. My builder has said he will be on site within a few days once the permit is approved. Moved in December 2010 Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 663Jul 05, 2009 9:31 pm aajinoz Hi All h2b we saw Seven Pounds at the drive in earlier this year or Dec. My English DH loves going to the outdoor movies, thinks its odd but quaint.I found it quite an odd movie and am a little off Will Smith with his last few efforts. Would be interested to see your comments on it. We saw Angels and Demons on Monday and Slum Dog. Both were good, although Angels not as good as Davinci. Me too London but how could we pass being able to see the sun rise and set here and it's so picturesque. Since we moved in I haven't had many UK cravings! Your tramp picture is hilarious. They were warning ppl on the radio about these blowing over but I didn't think I would get to see evidence....lol...!~ Catch you all later. Very busy with the house stuff, will be on again soon I hope. Hi A, I didn't think much of Seven Pounds but am glad I finally watched it. It's been one of those movies that I really wanted to see even though I knew nothing about it apart from him helping 7 people. It took me by surprise when I worked it out but I did have a tear at the end I enjoyed Angels and Demons but yep loved Davinci more, I didn't like Slumdog at all. I really struggled to sit and watch it till the end. Sun rises are lovely here, I don't notice the sunset as much (must be busy cooking dinner or something). It is rather peaceful out here and quiet which is nice. Oh the poor tramp She looks a bit battered out there at the moment. When we had those winds back in Feb our pool installer rang DH and told him to tie the pool down. DH tied it to the alfresco pillar, thankfully the house is still standing Hope the unpacking is nearly done. Haven25 H2B, if you're in the Peppercorn release, do you know what we would be? Looking at the plan, I thought it must be on the edges of Buttercross. I'm pretty sure that's where you are, Bam. I'd like to know which one of the 5 villages we are actually in. Isn't Buttercross village to do with dairy farming and butter churning? I'll find out. H2B, I'm glad you took a pic of the trampoline. It's good there was no damage done; just as well there's no-one living behind you! It was really windy here too; in fact, the portable basketball ring from next door is still hanging partly over our fence; I don't think they've realised yet but no damage done here either. Oh, and we signed our contract this week, so just waiting for all the bank stuff to go through. I think I might allow myself to get a little bit excited when it's all sorted. Haven I think you are right, I'm sure I read that Buttercross Village relates to farming. Last year when S'land did a release they used to have a little spiel on the back of the release plan about the origins of the release name. Your release is "CLOVER" and is part of the Buttercross Village. We are Peppercorn in Buttercross Village. Buttercross Village goes from the School down to Bridge Inn Road and all the way across left-right along Bridge Inn Road so that's Aajonoz and Bam too. We are supposed to get a nice park in that cluster of trees up behind your block. Tramp is damaged, I didn't notice it at first but the netting is torn in places and a couple of the poles that hold the net up are bent. All fixable though Have your neighbours fixed their BB ring? Congrats on getting through contract, when is site start? Today one year ago we were all boxed up and slab was poured on 07/07. Can't believe how quick the year has gone. Have you all driven over the new road to Laurimar yet? Kids and I took a drive across on Friday and then DH wanted to go Friday night. Takes 4 mins to get to the supermarket from home - love it! Happy at Home Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 664Jul 05, 2009 11:12 pm I am the opposite, I thought da vinci code movie was crap... but loved angels and demons... but I also thought angels and demons was the much better book.. but both books were alot better than the movies.. I did think that ewan mcgregor was outstanding in angels and demons though. Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 665Jul 05, 2009 11:22 pm Books are always better than the movies aren't they? Ewan McGregor.....unfortunately due to someone in this house being a huge Star Wars fan I always think of him as Obi Wan Kenobi Hey Andy, congrats on moving in. We went past your place on Friday and saw that you had moved in. Hope the move went well and that you are enjoying your new home. How's the HT going? Have you had time to watch a movie yet? I have the release plan here somewhere, which gave me the info about the farming. I need to go through the piles of papers I have here to find it. For some reason, I was thinking that you were in Peppercorn village. I think I have too many things running around in my head at the moment. Basketball ring is still hanging over the fence. The cold weather is probably keeping them from noticing it. It's not a problem to us, but they might like to tie it down before the next blustery day. We don't have a start site date yet. Hope it's in August, otherwise it will be November. That would really put a dent in our plans. There shouldn't be any problems with August though. Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! There is a bean bag shop near the city.. I might buy two really comfy ones from there and then it can be a 4 seater theatre... which will be plenty.. the cats vs saints game looked awesome on the screen! And I wouldn't worry about the loss, with stevie J and otto back you will be a 3-4 goal better side.. Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 677Jul 10, 2009 9:12 am Bam So, everyone..... if I have a linen party who wants to come?! Well, if I was living just around the corner from you, I'd be there for sure. Did anyone hear the Rumour File on the radio this morning? DH tells me that someone said that some houses near the Darebin Creek would have to go to make way for the new ring road. Got out the Melways to see that the creek runs not too far away from MV. I imagine that they are talking about the area closer to Epping. Can anyone shed some light on this? Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 678Jul 10, 2009 10:06 am As far as I can tell, it isnt too far from MV but still quite some distance. We live closer to the ring road now and besides the traffic on the entry and exit ramps when driving, it doesnt affect us at all. And considering the ramps and the bulk of the freeway is on the high st side I dont think we will get interrupted. When/if it goes ahead, my brother will be living VERY close to it though Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated! Mernda Villages 680Jul 10, 2009 11:04 am wakeboardandy yeah the maps for the new ring road are on the vicroads website but it basically goes down high street so wouldn't affect MV. New houses are very unlikely to have been built on the proposed route. You can bet that there's been land earmarked for the purpose for years, and some older houses may have to go. I'm not sure about High St, Andy....there's a freeway reserve running north-south through Mill Park, just east of the Darebin Creek. I'm pretty sure that's where the proposed new road will run to join onto the existing Ring Road. I bet the people whose back fences adjoin that reserve are kicking themselves they didn't sell before the announcement... It seems to run west of Mernda anyway - more over towards Wollert. It must cross High St somewhere though before it curves over towards Kalkallo. Edit: Found the map! It crosses Bridge Inn Rd just near High St then stays west of the road as it goes north. And I was right about the road reserve in Mill Park..... The map's here (page 14): http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyres/2DC1CDE5-6B3A-4801-A50E-854406A53FDE/0/AppendixEDesignDrawings.pdf the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 12020 Do I need to concern about this pattern of crack?
