Mernda Villages 2210Sep 08, 2010 9:30 am ![]() ![]() There was a 2-3 car crash at Masons + Plenty road this morning, 3 CFA trucks in attendance when I tried to get out onto Plenty Rd at 6:30am Everyone appeared to be ok although one of the cars was down in a ditch - that would have to hurt It is a joke that they didn't put the traffic lights there when they built the bridge.. In actual fact they did nothing when they put the bridge in there. It was only after that they realised they needed to do something. How stupid is our council/vicroads to not have planned for this? It is just lucky no-one has been killed yet. Anyway I'm glad they are starting works on it but it is well over 12 months too late. To me it didn't seem like rocket science that there needed to be traffic lights there. MV has traffic lights for a much less busier intersection. This intersection leads to the biggest estate in the area and only estate currently in the Mernda/Doreen area with any shops/supermarkets/doctors/etc. It just baffles me sometimes why we pay these muppets so much money in rates/taxes. /end rant I so agree! Let's outsource local government! I was amused to see trees have been planted on the corner of Gordons Rd and Plenty Rd, even though the area has already been cordoned off for the road works - those trees are going to be back out within a short time. Pfiff Finally making progress again, with a clothesline (yippee) and some much needed little things being attended to over the holidays. 40 C on New Year's eve? We love our a/c! Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 2211Sep 08, 2010 8:49 pm I doubt the council had a lot of say in it - Plenty Rd is a state-funded road, so all they'd be doing is lobbying for funding. ![]() It's always been the way. We waited years for the duplication from Bundoora to Mill Park, and traffic lights at Childs Rd. Uh... that's when Childs Rd was the ONLY road in or out of the suburb. It was exciting, making a right turn onto Plenty Rd every morning in peak hour. ![]() Funny how nothing changes. ![]() Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up!
