We currently have the 1200mm "high school" style of fence around the home, which sits on a corner.
I want to add some inexpensive privacy and safety to the back yard (our one year old will someday learn to climb it).
This may sound *******, but rather than pull down the current fence, I was hoping to adapt it.
I would like to make it about 1500mm (but would certainly make it 1800 if I could.
Can anyone suggest ways to adapt this fence. (I only need to screen the roadside section)
Ways I have thought include:
- Screwing colourbond/roofing iron to the rails
Screw thick Bamboo fencing to the rails
Screwing in masonite panels to the rails
Please provide thoughts on these options.
(If the back of the fence looks *, I would probably plant some shrubs to try and cover this up)
While, at this stage, a full rebuild is out of the question, I have seen some cool modern fencing done with masonite and roofing iron. Is this a cheaper/faster option than the paling fence?
If someone can suggest a cheap way to construct a privacy fence from scratch, please advise...
Regards
Alf...
