I just discovered our neighbor went to the council and reviewed our plans, and to make matters worse is telling the whole street details of our house plans. I thought that approved building plans lodged at council were private - does anyone know if residential BPs are fully accessible to the public? thanks I did discover today that the council is absolutely restricted from showing the plans to anybody but the owner (unless the owner consents) if the BP did not need planning approval, just permit approval through a surveyor. This breaches privacy laws. We do have a somewhat overzealous neighbor who is constantly complaining to me, our builder and the council about the dust and noise generated by the construction, so we're a little anxious why he would try to get the plans. No, not yet. It’s currently being assessed by our building surveyor 4 6313 Looking to start the journey of becoming an owner builder in SA.
