Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 22, 2009 10:06 am I have a couple of sections of internal exposed brick wall in my house. These are not large areas and I would like to paint them. What products do I need and how do I do it? Any ideas? Any photos? Anyone done this? Re: How can I paint internal brick wall? 2Feb 22, 2009 1:12 pm Use either a long nap roller or an airless spray gun.
If the areas are small than the roller is obviously the least amount of hassle. You'll need to seal the bricks with an appropriate sealer then top coat with a decent acrylic (i used Dulux X10 and its stuck like s#!t to a blanket). Re: How can I paint internal brick wall? 5Feb 23, 2009 8:18 am gersy1964 Your reply made me giggle - can I do it with a brush instead? Only a small area (couple of metres) and I will have to be careful not to get it on my new kitchen. Yes you can do it with a brush. dont bother with a tiny little thing though you'll be wasting your time. You want a decent size brush (4 inch or larger) so that you can hold and transfer a good volume of paint. Re: How can I paint internal brick wall? 8Feb 23, 2009 7:09 pm I told one of my clients to paint out her brick wall in the dark lounge room.
She did just what I told her to do, and it looks fantastic! Get a large full bristled paint brush, and go to town on it in a semi gloss paint. Make sure you swirl the brush around to get the paint into all the holes. It’s a painful job, but if it’s done right the outcome is lovely. Sorry, no photo. I’ll get one for you next time I got back, I’ve been there a few times giving her more tips. It has a sandy texture I think and it all depends on how many coats you put on to achive the different looks.
They did have a dvd on it dont know if you can still get this now though.
