Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 17, 2009 10:52 pm questions to those who installed a dish washer after house handover... my house inclusion spec says I’ll be getting a opening for the dish washer, electric plug point and a water tap..... doesn’t mention any thing about a gray water drainage point.....just wondering where water will go after a wash..... am I missing something? Would like to know your experience Re: Dish washer draining 2Feb 17, 2009 11:05 pm There is a provision on the trap section of your under sink waste where a dishwasher outflow pipe is normally attached.
When a machine is installed a hole will most likely be drilled through the neighbouring carcass and the drain pipe brought through from the dishwasher - assuming that the dishwasher cavity is somewhere near the sink unit. The water supply for the dishwasher is usually in the same area, so a few lines will be routed from the undersink to the dishwasher area. A retrofit is not really much of a drama, especially if provisions have already been made. Cheers, Earl |
