Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 17, 2009 9:50 pm We're looking at an established house (as an alternative to a build) which was built by a major project builder but unfinished. We're trying to estimate completion costs and wondering if anyone could help us guesstimate?
The major things are: - Front and laundry doors (traditional hinged) don't have security mesh doors - what would they cost to supply and install (the modern steel mesh, not the older grille+flyscreen) - Same with the two large sliding doors to the alfresco - there is a rail for a sliding screen, but no screens have been installed? - Modern metal or wooden eaves to 3 small and 4 medium windows on the western side, which currently have no sun protection - the kitchen currently has a tiny oven and a cheap 900mm hotplate with pot drawers under - we'd like to replace the hotplate and drawers with a freestanding 900mm gas cooker with oven, and have bottled gas installed. The kitchen is right against the outer wall so the gas lines wouldn't need to be too long or hard to install. - We'd want to have the master ensuite window frosted - at the moment it looks right out to the neighbor's kitchen from the bath! Many thanks folks and I'm really only looking for a rough guess, please don't go to any trouble.
