I would doublecheck this as I am sure the laws were changed regarding what needed council approval and what didnt. The changes were designed to cut downthe red tape and streamline some processes. My understanding was that there is a formula to be used regarding size (something about a percentage in size of the total house, or something like that. thay said, There is also the kingston council website which says if it is not attached to the house. Perhaps a call to a private building permit provider will help, tell them you are shopping around and have a couple of questions?? I think it also changes according to the weather, and the color of the Premier's ties.
