Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 11, 2009 11:06 pm Hi all,
Firstly I want to say I am NOT an employee or shareholder of Coles and I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by writing the following. This is for anyone who are not aware that on Friday 13th of February 2009 all Coles Supermarket around the nation will donate all profit on that day to the Victorian Bush Fire Appeal. So I hope you could postone your grocery shopping til then to help a great cause. Thanks in advance. As an idea, we will donate the money in one person's name, then the tax refund the person receives will also be donated, so we should reach almost $6,000. If anyone knows a better way please let me know. But if it's illegal Thanks Ed "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. Grewat effort! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: Victorian Bush Fire Appeal 9Feb 15, 2009 12:44 am well done guys on raising those funds.money is certainly going to help but talking to a few survivors and what they really need now is trucks, utes and trailers to help clean up the burnt debris so the rebuild can commence. so if anyone can spare a few hours to go and help i know these guys will be grateful.please keep in mind the debris is still smoldering so help in this area wouldnt be for another week or two so plenty of time to arrange a few mates to do a working bee in the affected regions.
once the clean up begins then they will need plumbers electricians ect and anyone who can do manual labor this has been a massive fire and will take a massive effort to get it back to as normal as possible. lots of companys are helping they always do at the start of an appeal but when the media frenzy dies down then thats when the real work begins so if you can spare a few hours helping out physically then that would be great thank you all in advance shelley Re: Victorian Bush Fire Appeal 10Feb 15, 2009 7:37 am petal Well done, Ed & co..........I initially thought you'd said you were going to throw a bifold door on the BBQ!!!!! My son works at one of their supermarkets and couldn't believe how busy they were.... Re: Victorian Bush Fire Appeal 12Feb 15, 2009 11:42 am Yep, I work at Coles as a night-filler (so no real vested interested, lol) and I can confirm that last Friday night was verrryyy busy - like Xmas.
