Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 10, 2009 10:41 am Hi,
Im interested in building a new home with Fairmont Homes (SA), and would really appreciate any feedback / opinions from anyone who has built with them before? Cheers! Re: Fairmont Homes? 2Mar 16, 2010 1:44 pm Hi, we are currently building with them, so far all seems to be fine, but mind you they've just started the building process 12 days ago, so I guess too early for me to tell about the builder. We've got friend who have built with them, they were pretty happy, but those friends have built w/ fairmont years ago, even when we signed our contract with them, Im hearing a lot of good feedback with this builder, but NOW it seems to be there are lots of compalint about the builder... especially on thier communication side. But cross fingers everything will be fine for our sake. There are threads here you can read about fairmont. And there are other website that reviews are given by thier customer (I would think) here is the link : http://www.productreview.com.au/showite ... m_id=52292. Good luck. Whichever builder we choose it still rely on our fate. Re: Fairmont Homes? 3Mar 16, 2010 1:45 pm for that website just google building with fairmont homes and it is from that website of productg review. Re: Fairmont Homes? 4Mar 16, 2010 5:02 pm Hey Purplerosey, I'm glad your experience has been good so far. I saw a design of theirs I fell in love with but my husband has been reluctant to deal with them becuase of all the complaints on product review etc. We're pricing houses with other builders since we aren't happy with the builder we chose. My main concern is about length of time in pre-build. They can mostly build a house in 6 months but for some the planning stage can take 8 to 12 months. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Fairmont Homes? 5Mar 16, 2010 8:34 pm Hi Robinred55, Well all builders have thier own share of complaints, and have thier complements as well. As I said It all depends on our luck what will happen with our building. As to time frame, with fairmont, we signed our contract end of June 2009, they've accepted it 3 months later and started building after 6 mos. of accepting the contract. The big flaw I've seen is the gap between us signing the contract and the acceptance of fairmont, but we were advised that we should expect a delay because they are processing a lot of contract because of the FHOG Boost, which is a fact. So we have to deal with it. Has Rossdale accepted your contract as yet? Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74458 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
