We have been visited by the police to see if we had seen anything suspicious after a house was robbed of all of its cabinetry and plumbing. There are so many cars coming and going at all hours that it is almost impossible for us to keep a look out - it is driving me crazy I feel like a security gaurd I am taking down number plates all the time and spend more time peering out of the windows than not Stick a flood light pointing down the street over the blocks... should make it obvious someone is watching. Not so sure why you would be advertising that the windows are being delivered to site again considering they were stolen the first time Ah - you think maybe the thief is on the forum... We didn't advertise last time and they were taken - they will expect replacements anyway. They are being installed - but they were installed last time - the thief cut the nails one day and removed the windows the next. Maybe more than just the windows have been taken. From what I've heard it's usually the tradies coming back to take them anyway Happy at Home Re: Theft of Windows - Update - Mernda Village Drive 45Feb 19, 2009 9:08 pm 2 jetmaster fireplaces stolen out of the house pd is building for us. i am taking the odd cruise past my property late at night hoping to find someone in the act. It would be a serious effort to come in and steal a jetmaster fireplace those things would have to weigh a bit - likewise with the double glazed windows that Ed sells those things would have some weight behind them. Re: Theft of Windows - Update - Mernda Village Drive 48Feb 19, 2009 10:37 pm I'm not understanding about the windows. The nails were cut one day and then they were stolen the next...... how is this known? If they knew the nails were cut, surely that was a heads up that someone was coming back to take the windows themselves?? Why didn't someone do a stake out?
Something's not adding up. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I have no idea - I assume the police know that after the event somehow... maybe the time window was too small to do both on the day. Maybe someone saw something, or heard them cutting the previous day. It's just waht I was told. That way if someone drives past the video starts to record. Also we will put signage up on our house block about video surveilance. Lets hope we can catch a few people out.
