Hi, could anyone advise what is the process to get approval to move driveway please?
(We would like to have our driveway moved about 4-5 meters from what developer already provided)
thanks,

If approved, its at our own cost and you need to also remove the other driveway and fix it back to the normal nature strip at your own costs, using their recommended workers I think...
I hope that makes sense? Im in a bit of a blank state of mind at the moment! Does it say anything in your contract? Re: Approval to move driveway 4Jan 26, 2009 2:10 pm It depends whether the crossover has been constructed yet or not. If you've bought land in a new subdivision where the roads etc haven't been done yet, you might just need to go to the developer. That's what we did, and all we had to do was fill in a form and fax it to them. They then constructed our crossover on the opposite side to where it was originally going to be. No contact with council required at all.
There's no guarantee of automatic approval though - there may be reasons why it can't be moved. If the crossover already exists, then you probably need to go to the council. You might still have to apply to the developer first for permission, depends what covenants exist on your land. Give them a call, they'll be able to answer your questions. Re: Approval to move driveway 5Mar 02, 2009 2:23 pm Hi,
We have similar issue. Our developer asked us to approach local council and submit the application. We called council and they asked us to submit a form with the reason. at this moment I'm not sure what reason we could put beside saying that we need crossover inline with garage. I'm not sure if we can put some security related issues etc. May be if somebody could assist what we can put on the application. Re: Approval to move driveway 6Mar 02, 2009 3:00 pm on our block there is an island directly in front of where our driveway entrance will be, its okay because we can just drive around the wrong way to access our driveway as its only very small, but its going to be annoying, will the council look at moving this at all?
