I am problably the best to comment on what Ropes Is like due to the type of job I am in and the area in which i conduct my job. There area is pretty good, at the start there was lots of break and enters and stealing due to not a lot of security and not many people around. Now there is hardly any problems. Agreed the suburb is surrounded by less desirable suburbs but the developers and the owners need to come together and be smart about how they do things, Re: Ropes Crossing - FHOB - ADVICE APPRECIATED 23Feb 03, 2009 1:47 am yvette72 nothing to do with the fact we didnot win the protest as said its there in black and white on the interet the reading speaks for itself, seems you are not allow to have a different view here as far as I was aware it is a free country, because if you have a different view then anyone else you get personal attacked for it and called a silly old biddy that got her tittles in tangle. I have finally made the move and me and my DP have made an offer on a house in Ropes Crossing in an attempt to; 1. Get into the market, 2. Start to build our own equity and assets and three own our own home. Hope I have made the right decision. It is a house / land type package where the home has already started to be built - Not sure what you refer to it as. The down side is no selection of anything in the house. Although we have seen a display and are happy with it, we can add all our own things at a later date. The building is a Henley Home. Thoughts and opinions appreciated????? Looking forward to share our progress. Would like to hear from other Henley home builders and their experiences Re: Ropes Crossing - Western Sydney. 35Oct 11, 2009 11:18 am A few display pictures, as I know everyone likes pictures on this forum. Would appreciate anyones thoughts and opinions on these things. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Front will be very similar in colours and facade - We like the darks and browns. It's the surrounding suburbs that are of concern, but i have some friends who live in the estate and it's been trouble free. I really like the house you have chosen, however i see four bedrooms to one living room arising as an issue, but thats just an excuse to build bigger and better things in the future The facade is perfect as the colours chosen shouldn't date in the same fashion as bolder colours would. Goodluck with your building! Re: Ropes Crossing - Western Sydney. 38Oct 11, 2009 5:59 pm Max.l thanks for your reply. I work in the area and I also have friends who live in the estate, I do not have any concerns in that regard. Yes the suburbs around are less the desirable but you get that in any area really. I appreciate what you say about the one living space but yes you are right at this stage it is a way to get into the market with a decent first home and in a few years move on and build our own home with all our own selections. Appreciate any further replies. Re: Ropes Crossing - FHOB - ADVICE APPRECIATED 39Oct 11, 2009 6:17 pm And i guess the only way to get rid of the scum suburbs is to build nicer suburbs in between and hope for the best. I have to admit i'm rather jealous, i'm only 18 but i have an ache to buy my own house and stamp myself all over it; create a quality product and have the dream job i've always wanted. I really like the open plan kitchen and living area; seems perfect for entertaining, especially if you utilize the alfresco area outside the living room. If you add some warmth with the right tones of furniture, paint, rugs and accessories, it will look absolutely fantastic. What size is your land, if you don't mind me asking? One benefit of a smaller block is how low maintenance should be, you'l be entertaining more than mowing the lawns over summer. Re: Ropes Crossing - FHOB - ADVICE APPRECIATED 40Oct 11, 2009 6:25 pm Thats what I intend on doing, entertaining with the family especially with a bub on the way. block size is 420m2 house is 22sq. We were lucky to score one of the biggest backyards in the estate. Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing. If you just do a 400x200 footing it will fail in time. At 17m long you need it… 1 3430 Thank you so much for the effort. We will use it to talk with builder.
