Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 23, 2009 3:58 pm Origin is currently prompting its solar system deal:
$3,975 for a 1kw solar electricity system, fully installed. And they'll organize everything, from $8000 rebate to connection to the grid. Upon from above, you will also get 60c/KWh from State government's new Feed In Tariff scheme. Sounds pretty attractive for me. $4000 cash into the pocket and saves a bit from your electricity bill! Feel too good to be true though. Not sure if there will be any ongoing/hidden costs? Or any other reasons I should re-think? Re: Origin Solar Eletricity Offer - Worth it? 2Jan 23, 2009 4:07 pm Hey tom, not sure if you fully understand the offer or I have just misunderstood your post, lol!
The reason they organize the rebate is because they keep the $8k and you need to pay them an additional $3,975 ie. the system they are installing is worth about $12k of which you pay $4k and they get the rest from your rebate.
