I would definitely check what they actually mean. That is exactly what it means. The frames are electrically coated with a clear anti corrosion material. They look a little matt, at least compared to the other silver-coloured aluminium frames that are available.
They are actually one of my favourite window frame colours as I think they blend well with most wall colours (assuming you aren't painting your house an extremely dark colour). My parents are building at the moment and have chosen clear anodised for all of their windows, and their exterior paint is a greeny colour - Bushland something, perhaps? Half of the windows are in so far and it looks great. And yes, clear anodised is generally a little more expensive than the coloured powdercoated aluminium. Overseas the annodised finish is cheaper than powdercoating. We use only powdercoating because annodising is permanently marked by mortar, and because any scratches are nonrepairable.
