We began renovations and then we relocated to Central Qld. We have recently just managed to (almost) complete the house VERY complicated doing so when not living anywhere near it!!!! and we now hope to move back to Brissie soon so we can enjoy it ourselves rather than have renters ruin it before we even get a chance to live in it. Will post pics later once get a chance and have had a look around the site (newbie here) Re: A thread for Queenslanders :-) 203Jul 10, 2012 8:28 pm Hi all, Been lurking (and posting a little bit) for a few months now, and things are finally starting to look like they might happen at some stage. We're still saving up for our deposit, but we're aiming to start getting the ball rolling by the end of the year. We are looking at a few different suburbs, mainly Fernvale (SE of Brisbane) and North Lakes (N of Brisbane) (we're somewhat flexible in both directions), but we have a strict budget, and we're most likely going to do a home/land package deal. We're looking at 3 or 4bed, 2bath, 2living, alfresco and double garage, with a few upgrades from the bare standard (flooring and air con mainly), and we're crossing our fingers we can achieve this within our budget! I will probably start a thread in a few months time when we start talking to companies, etc, but in the meantime I need all the help I can get so I'll be trawling this forum for information about building in QLD! Really glad I found this thread, btw. We've lived in Brisbane and Mackay also. It's gone well so far. We definitely know a lot more now than we did previously. At this rate we'd need to build about 3 times to actually be happy with everything! Our building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53911 Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle. We're planning our garage/external laundry to master bedroom and… 0 11116 |
