Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Back Fence Colour - can't decide 21Jan 10, 2009 8:44 am What about a silvery, bluey grey colour...like Steel Edge or Simone Weil by Dulux...or Colorbond Windspray....to pick up on the colours in your Bluestone retaining wall and steps, and your verandah posts? Plus greys look great behind all sorts of different coloured foliage. Re: Back Fence Colour - can't decide 22Jan 10, 2009 4:38 pm I think Colorbond Jasper or Riversand would be a great match with the stones around your pergola. The colours are not too dark or too light. What ever you do don't have cream as it show up all of the dirt etc. Have a look at the colours on the link below, and i am sure that you can have these colours done in paint as well these days. Just go to Bunnings i think they do it there.

Keep them all the same, no matter what colour it is. The plan is definitely to have all 3 the same colour - it's just a matter of shoosing one for all three.. I have my opinions and unfortunately they don't match my wifes.. I would go teh red of Mountain Blue - she doesn't like either of them!!! Any idea if I would need to undercoat any (or all) of the existing colours before painting? Re: Back Fence Colour - can't decide 24Jan 12, 2009 12:45 pm I’m not sure……you better ask at the paint shop first, maybe a primmer???
Truly, and I know no one else here dosen't like it, but I like the cream fence. Gardens and foliage look fantastic with and it doesn’t fade as fast. Re: Back Fence Colour - can't decide 26Feb 01, 2009 12:22 pm I don't want to hijack the thread, and have done no research as of yet, but we have two neighbours on the one side (a 40m boundary) and they have two different coloured colourbond fences. We don't like either, and will probably choose our own.
My question...how easy/difficult is it to repaint a colourbond fence? Is it better to roller it on, or spray it on? I asked the same question recently It can be easily done using an airless sprayer. If you go to the bluescope website under FAQs there is info there. Do a search in the forums here and you should find the link in a post! Re: Back Fence Colour - can't decide 29Feb 04, 2009 7:18 pm In my humble opinion, why anyone would paint a fence is beyond me.
Now if its erected as colourbond fair enough, but I can think of a thousand things I would rather be doing BEFORE painting fences every few years, unless you are artistically minded and want to paint lollipops etc or worse still cover it with graffiti, why would you bother? A nice varied selection of tall background screening, and privacy, plants would look so much better than your soon to be, fading, peeling paint/artwork. Iron fences for the most part look boring, no matter what colour they are. There I feel better now LOL Arfur Re: Back Fence Colour - can't decide 30Feb 05, 2009 9:13 am Because a few of us currently have 3 different colour colorbond fences due to neighbours' decisions and even with planting the fence colour will show through. Personally I will be painting 2 out of our 3 boundary fences to match our main fence and then will be planting along the edges. It also depends on the style of plants you like. I'm not really into shrubs/bushes so my plants won't hide the whole of my fence although they will serve to break the solid wall effect up.
