I sit on the couch at night with with my wife watching TV and foruming with a laptop on my lap and of late I have found that there is a fair amount of heat being generated into my legs... (not the good heat either ) I had a look around to see what was available in the micro laptop market and found the Asus eeepc. This neat little device runs windows and does all the things my normal laptop does ... just with a lot less heat, less noise and a lot less space. It has wireless internet, a webcam and everthing you need built in. Starting from $349 new ($250 second hand) these are a good thing in my opinion and definately worth considering if you want something small and portable to surf the net. This is the new laptop beside the old laptop that I had been using until today: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And for those who are familiar with the wii-mote here is a size comparison: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: My new homeone tool... 2Jan 01, 2009 8:25 pm Our off sider at work, has one even smaller than that one, he loves it! The ones with beans under neath. It's great for notebooking in bed as well. I bought a cooler fan tray a while back but it's too fiddly to bother with. BUt you win on the toys scale. much better than a plastic try. Re: My new homeone tool... 4Jan 01, 2009 8:39 pm Have a read of this website Matt!!

He loves it... and I love it! I'm so jealous of it. He's never had any problems with it.
One thing to keep in mind though, is that they don't come with a CD/DVD drive, but as far as I'm aware, there is the capacity to hook an external drive up to it (This is for the Asus ones; I'm not sure whether any of the other brands have DVD drives or not). I would buy one for myself in a flash if I could justify having my normal laptop as well Re: My new homeone tool... 19Jan 28, 2009 9:12 pm Ryan Oliver Nice one matt. Does it have a video card??? Sure does... Does external monitor via d-sub (vga port) and dualview etc. They are very clever little suckers... Re: My new homeone tool... 20Jan 28, 2009 9:14 pm Gotta get me one!
