Hmmm that's what I'm thinking, access from within the garage.... I was toying with access from outside... then I was thinking access from outside and from inside.
Bugger the toilet... I might steal the whole plan! Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Toilet in the garage, does it need tiling? 22Dec 19, 2008 5:21 pm joles Michelle Why don’t you tile around it after handover? Toilets sit on slabs anyway….no biggy there, you just have to worry about the excess moisture going into the slab and the possible smells that can come from that. Tile around it later. Michelle you really need to start reading the whole thread! My preference is to just leave it on the slab seeing as it is for the spa and muddy kids etc.... I just wasn't sure if I had to have tiles for some type of building standards reason or something. Sorry Jo!! I have actually changed it now so that entrance from the garage is throught the store room. Love the 'mud room' idea from this forum! Did i steal that idea? Better let you steal away too. Re: Toilet in the garage, does it need tiling? 24Dec 19, 2008 5:24 pm Just remembered have added a roller door at the back of the garage too. Just to cover all bases. We are actually having a pool rather than a spa but the idea is the same. Re: Toilet in the garage, does it need tiling? 25Dec 19, 2008 7:47 pm Have you toyed with the idea of having a shower in there?
Hmmm I've been playing with my plan. I need a way to get to the toilet without opening the whole garage up. I don't want to have to worry about the dogs being locked in the garage accidently when the kids are in and out to the toilet. The other thing on the other side of the toilet wall is a trough and bench. I have til Monday. This is where I am currently at.... http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u353/joles_photo/scan0003moddedagain3.jpg I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Toilet in the garage, does it need tiling? 26Dec 19, 2008 8:15 pm We did consider a shower but decided we needed to draw the line somewhere! Is the trough where hands will be washed? Have you considered putting the toilet on one side, the trough on the other and the doorways in between. You don't have to go into the actual garage to wash hands. This would still take up the same amount of floor space. Re: Toilet in the garage, does it need tiling? 27Dec 19, 2008 10:01 pm There will be a hand basin in the toilet. The trough if for the old woman for her (plant) potting area and for DS for his models. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Toilet in the garage, does it need tiling? 29Dec 20, 2008 8:59 pm We've actually put a toilet in the laundry, so it's not far from the pool. There was going to be a shower as well, but I couldn't fit everything else in with it, so I scrapped it. We will probably get an outdoor shower next to the laundry door (DS#2 gets cold quickly in the pool, so it's really just for him).
