She didn’t even see the power lines, so she did a drive past as well to have a look. Her comment was, “Can’t say I’d buy it either!” But I’ve got another one for you! We didn't want to be near them at all, and much rathered a block nearer the highway than the powerlines! Needless to say she turned out to be a loony!! ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! spotted a gorgeous place.. but within 400metres of those huge steel power line tripod thingos... the lines run very close to the backyard... how annoying.. I think it is more of a problem if you are directly beneath them or within about 150m of them. Our block in doreen will be 2.6km away from the closest point of the powerlines which is on the corner of bridge inn road and yan yean rd. Nah, honestly, there is just so much we don't know about that sort of stuff and the long term effects why bother? ICK So glad the building is over, never again. I used to be in the HV power industry and knew a couple of guys who died - I believe as a result of proximity to HV power lines. There's a good NZ study I will see if I can dig it out... Radon daughters forming, depleted melatonin in the body not removing free radicals, leading to cancer (plse don't give me a hard time for the technical bumfff...)
