Hi All,
We have just purchased a place in Cashmere, Brisbane and it is now unconditional. We had another look at the house and I'm concerned about a dryer.
The dryer is fixed to the wall. Its mounted on brackets that are bolted to the wall with a wooden bar. Is the classed as a 'fixture' and should it stay with the property?
I'm concrened about the mess its going to make if the owner rips it off the wall before settlement and takes it with them (sold my investment unit with a dryer also fixed to the wall and we just left it because it was going to be messy taking it off the wall).
The contract does not stipulate any 'fixtures' to be exluded.
I could very well be wrong but I was under the impression that if something is fixed to the property its classed as a fixture.. ie, light fittings etc.
Can anyone help me with this or been in the same situation?
Kylie
