I am having a flat kliplok roof replaced, so now is the time to get some insulation in. There is no cavity in the ceiling that I know of, more or less just the depth of the rafters.
I am on an occasionally busy road (peak hour rat run), so thinking of acoustic and thermal properties of insulation. Plus it is my bedroom, so the quieter the better. I rang Bradford, and was recommended Anticon 60 (R1.3) which is a foil backed blanket for under the roof, and Soundscreen batts (R2.5) laid on the ceiling. The suggested R value for Sydney is R3, so not sure if this is overkill.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this? I met with a roofer today and he will do the insulation too. The roof started leaking two days ago, so the sooner I make up my mind the better, and can let the roofer know so he can finalise the quote and book the job in.
