Looks like they have amended their design. It was initially going to be 4 stories and 23 dwellings.

There was a rejection last year mainly on the height and bulk of the building (4 storeys) and the harshness of it's character (sparse car park area).

An appeal was lodged 3 days later. A meeting on the issue was scheduled for June this year, but it seems like they think it would be faster to just bury one of the stories under ground (basement level) and lodge a new application and hope it gets less objections.

Coincidently, only one objection was received for the triple double storey on the corner of Capesthorne Drv and Windsor (opposite the purple house) so it will most likely go through. About the only thing stopping it now is cost of building vs recouping of investment. The falling house prices will diminish chances of making a suitable profit on it.
hey everyone.. what the .. . been away for a wii while after our break . .
and noticed all this new buildings going on . . lol . .

I noticed the new cricket pitch / basketball court .. i hope it's a cricket pitch personally..
* speaking of - solar panels, as there is another post floating around -

Has anyone around Brimbank had solar panels installed ?

with who ..
how many kw's . .

Does anyone know . . i could look , but Cbf atm . . the current tariff rates .. .

just out of curiosity and stirring up some discussion . .

* on a different note. . the charcoal chicken shop nxt to coles.. is still closed . .must be over 6 months now . .
trippy your wasting your time, especially since they lowered the $ you get back per kw. The ROI is now like 15 years

Based on current electricity prices or after the carbon tax has been in a few years?

Really ??
15 years -
I would hazard a guess it would be a lot less. ..
i'll have to look into it .. .as our elec bills, tend to be in the 300-450 range. ... rather painful..

At least we know where the Data Centre will be now.

http://brimbank-leader.whereilive.com.a ... -pipeline/
I dont believe that is the new data centre in Derrimut, which will be opened by a different company I thought.
yup....the new data centre in Derrimut is being built by Polaris (Springfield Land Corporation).

Digital Reality are new players in the area.

http://www.brimbankweekly.com.au/news/local/news/general/deer-park-data-centre-to-create-450-jobs/2460530.aspx

wouldn't mind a job closer to home....
So there will be 2 data centres in our area - Polaris and Digital Reality

It would be a dream getting a job not 5 minutes away from home
Dream for me also, there are a lack of IT jobs in the west!
That's why being in transport and logistics rocks when living in BG! 9 min to work, 20min to the airport for business trips.
With thee new data centers opening up here in deer park, does that mean they will improve the internet infrastructure also so we all get faster internet speed?

I connect now at 24mbit, which is as fast as ADSL2 goes. I am up the northside though.
I thought i submitted a post earlier, but it didn't show..lol . . here it goes earlier..

(Making assumptions here) from reading earlier - It seemed that everyone living in BG was working in IT - till Adam mentioned he was in transport and logistics.
HR here personally.

** Lol , with regards to your post Lopan ** I wish .. the data centre means better internet infrastructure for us fellow Adsl users.
That day will come one day . .and NBN will be your salvation.
That's what Senator Conroy will have you believe.

IT here.. as is my wife..
Lol .. Joey..

metals and mining .. shouldn't you be up north ..
Rio, BHP and Outotec all have divisions in Melbourne

I'll be up north (China) next month when I try to start up a new baby furnace - and when I say 'baby' I mean it only produces $2mil worth of copper a day instead of the normal $10mil a day.
