Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 562Feb 26, 2011 9:50 am I just heard word that there is a planning request in for the block opposite the school. They are planning to do a 4 story apartment building, and also asking to not have to abide by the current council parking requirements. I know personally I don't like the sound of this... increase traffic/congestion/parking on street/unsightlyness I also heard that they have already been approved to put commission housing in that area as well?? The Permit Application Number is P949/2010 if anyone wants to check it out... if you struggle to find it I can send the document to you as well as the objection council papers if you are so inclined (ghetto corner anyone?) I'll try check PM's a little more often than I normally would for it - but sorry if I don't get to you for a day or so! Thanks... I can see the corrupt Brimbank councillors approving the 4 storey building in exchange for the commission housing. Send me the files please. I would be interested to see them, and remind the local voters come election time. Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 565Feb 28, 2011 8:21 am Geeee I love the area at the moment too and not looking forward to this...grrrrrr can you send me the file(s) too. In fact who is entitled to object? Is there a petition against this project going on? Hey bobes...who are you connected with for adsl2+? In fact who is entitled to object? Is there a petition against this project going on? Anyone can object, however they are supposed to consider those with major impact (like number 46 Windsor Blvd) at a higher level than someone on the other side of the estate for example. Petitions are only considered as a single objection, so I would advise individual objections to help the case. Still, a 4 storey apartment block is not what I consider appropriate for that site. It will completely dominate the area, and allow people to view into the surrounding houses, primary schools and playground. The lack of parking on site will cause them to (double) park on the street, and being a corner, with a bus stop as well will cause congestion and traffic issues, possibly dangers with people crossing the street to get to the shops and school. Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 572Mar 01, 2011 9:57 am We're looking for a good landscaper in Derrimut and surrounding areas - is there anyone whom you can recommend? Please PM me if you like. Many thanks in advance. We are trying to get a decent one to do our front yard, but haven't got any luck so far ... Ethaime. PS - we're with Internode too, so far so good!!! Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 579Mar 03, 2011 9:55 am Hi Adam.M, "A landscaper to work on your design or for them to choose the design? Would someone who knows one or two things about a front yard be fine?" We've got a landscape plan already, just want to get someone to construct it for us ... but we're happy to take advices/suggestions. We would like our front garden to last for a while, so thought a good landscaper would help us to achieve this. Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 580Mar 03, 2011 4:24 pm Anyone here in Stage 34 working on getting internet? I have Telstra coming out on Wednesday to hook my home line up (yay $290) however they said they could not to ADSL (she said she couldn't say if it was because of the line type, or lack of ports) Should I be worried that I'm not going to be able to get ADSL at all? She did mention that Cable may be available in the area... but I'm 98% sure that we don't have cable infrastructure right? Cheers I have posted this before: We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing. Thorough reports… 2 4664 |
