Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 741Sep 30, 2011 2:05 pm I see there is a sign requesting 3 double stories on the lot at the corner Capesthorne and Windsor Blvd. Very busy corner though, so if you have a typical 2-3 car houses it could get quite full there? Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 743Oct 04, 2011 10:34 am trippy hey there guys and gals. . mm. . .double stories. . .im trying to picture that corner - is that where some shops were planned ? It will be opposite Balmoral park, and the ugly purple house with the tall windows... now that I think about it - the corner is gonna get even uglier. Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 744Oct 04, 2011 11:11 am My thoughts exactly, everytime I go for a run I always think to myself how unappealing that house looks. That T intersection looks busy as it is, dunno how people will manage with that proposal. Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 747Oct 05, 2011 9:22 am Sometimes I wish we had town planning like caroline springs, there is so much bad landscaping let alone bad color choices! Sometimes I think derrimut is the new st albans! Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 748Oct 05, 2011 11:19 am Boomer Lets hope the owner isn't a member of this site!. We hope it isn't you! One of my pet peeves is the lack of uniformity of the nature strips in the estate. It varies from one house to the next, it goes from tidy green grass to road base to red scoria, black scoria, bare soil with a smothering of weeds, white pebbles, river pebbles, black mulch, although some have gone to the extent of putting in some landscaping........ Its a massive roundabout, during peak times can take 35mins to get through the roundabout.. Money was put aside for traffic lights, it was spent on the councilors nephews under 12 soccer club instead. He got the sack. To ensure that the kids learn that this sort of behaviour is unsuitable? Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 754Oct 06, 2011 7:47 am Nah not the owner of the purple/pink house!...you can relax now. The landscaping or lack there of is a disgrace. I'm sure in my contract there something about having landscaping done within 12mths of completion of home. it's now proving difficult to direct visitors through the scenic route....simply because there aren't any left!. My biggest frustration is the windsor blvd which is meant to be the main strip.....you would think that the least the council should do is ensure landscaping along this strip are kept in decent condition. The new landscaping on the robinsons rd entrance is a job....the bark has been there for less than a month and the weeds have completely taken over. I would of thought that the first thing you'd do for such a job is to lay the anti weed sheeting down first before you lay the bark. Re: Brimbank Gardens, Derrimut VIC 756Oct 06, 2011 12:47 pm LOL .. I think there's a general consensus with that purple house on the corner. I still wonder, how that got through the planning approval process- weren't all homes subject to some sort of approval by PEET, back then to ensure some sort of street appeal. . .etc etc. . With regards to the nature strips though .. yer , tis a bit frustrating. . .some people obviously take pride in maintaining some semblance of a nature strip . . some i've seen looks like a jungle. though i think with summer coming , im sure there will be a requirement by the council to maintain something reasonable. . . I personally am not too fussed, its people choice if they want a grass / fake grass / gravel . . as long as a choice is made. .. I just hate the look of overgrown weeds . .. my gawd. . take 10 mins .. spray it . . joeygbh trippy hey there guys and gals. . mm. . .double stories. . .im trying to picture that corner - is that where some shops were planned ? I think the approval requirement was removed about a couple of years back. That's why you see so many units going up - the original covenants that we built under no longer exist. Nope they still do (enforcing is another step..) I am still building.. and I had to agree to the covenants, however I did not need to submit this to PEET for approval, and as far as I know my builder didnt either... Only the council. I wonder if they are actually enforced, I would have thought PEET would be the approver, but this is literally the last stage of the estate, so they may have handed over to teh council, i am not building NASA"s space station and I am another rate payer, so I would expect the council to not really care. Compared to other estates, I found the covenants pretty soft to be honest. I have posted this before: We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing. Thorough reports… 2 4420 |
