We've just had our 'new' terracota roof tiles put on and are really unhappy with the workmanship. The tiler we used was recommended by Service Central and before choosing him we got 4-5 quotes. Originally we were supposed to have Boral French tiles put on but after a long winded story about not having any stock avalable we were convinced to put Wunderlich French put on instead. We were happy with the product prior to installation but now that they're up there the tiles look crooked/buckled, uneven and there's a lot of them chipped!! The tiler has said that he'll replace the chipped ones but there's nothing wrong with the way he's put them on. Other than having an argument, any ideas aboutwhat we should do? Is it unreasonable to expect him to replace the whole roof? Re: Roof tiles 2Dec 07, 2008 9:57 am Get some example place from Wunderlich and go look at the houses. My husband thinks maybe they've actually supplied us with'seconds' as the tiles look really crooked. Our invoice says supply 'new' tiles. Needless to say we're really ** off right now. Will be doing some more investigating but starting to think the tilers ripped us off! Do you have solar on the roof, because if its not a laying defect it looks almost like someone has been walking all over the roof in the mid section of the tile (weakest… 2 1931 2 9448 This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this. As for the unscheduled site visits, most builders are quite… 1 28320 |
