I'll change them rather than have that crap on them. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Is it Olympic Rings? Is it an Audi? First thing I thought in that pic was that the windows don't seem able to be opened which seems a bit silly if they are the only, or even the main, windows in the room? Re: Is it Olympic Rings? AS1288-2006, Clause 5-19, Making glass visible (Manifestation) If the presence of glass in a door, side panel or panel capable of being mistaken for a doorway or opening is not apparent by transoms, colonial bars, other components of the glazing system, or other decorative treatment, such as being opaque, or patterned, the glass shall be marked to make it visible. Refer AS1288-2006 for details on glass marking and location of this marking. My recollection is it must be 22mm high... There have been incidents - safety is also why your 1st floor windows have restricted openings to 150mm - so kids don't fall out. There was an incident last year in Wagga. These things shouldn't happen but they do. "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. Which would explain why some builders apply this rule to windows 300mm off the floorand others don't.
It probably comes down to how nervous the company's lawyers are. Interpretation of law (or regulations) is a very subjective thing. Re: Is it Olympic Rings? Is it an Audi? (We don't have to consider those that weren't looking and have walked off a cliff.) You would think that, but we had more than our fair share of people walk into a newly installed glass door and side panel which didn't have this treatment. In the end we had to put a table in their way to prevent them from walking into it. Re: Is it Olympic Rings? Is it an Audi? And yeah, I've been the witless victim of it But I completely agree, they look ugly as hell, but I'm not a fan of vertical narrow windows anyway, I do like the horizontal ones however. Re: Is it Olympic Rings? Is it an Audi? No, it's ugly windows! 34Nov 28, 2009 11:38 am After we installed our sliding doors (no rings) I walked full pelt into it, luckily I had a plate in my hand which left a scratch on the door - funnily in the shape of a capital "F" - probably becuase I said something starting with it after walking into it. Then, next day even with my new permanent marking I still managed to walk into it again - worst part is I actually walked into the fixed panel which would never have been open anyway 2011 Home Sweet Home Handover 03 September 2010 PCI 27August 2010 Plumber 20August 2010 Electrician 19August 2010 Painting 04 August 2010 Cabinets 13Jul2010 Lockup 23June Frame 20April slab 1Mar10 at most it will have a short lintel which could be moved up just below the ceiling or even above.
