Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 17, 2007 8:52 am Hi all,
I'm a bit of a predicament and was wondering whether any of you has a legal hat which you could put on to help me please? I'm due to settle on my land on Friday. If this is done, I will get a $2000 rebate as per the land contract. Also in the land contract, the vendor (large land estate company) has a clause that they will put in a crossover prior to settlement. The crossover is still missing . If it weren't for the $2k rebate which I could miss out on, I would tell them that I will only settle once the crossover is in place. I guess what I'm asking is, can I still insist on the crossover after settlement, once I own and have the land in my name? Or should I pay for the crossover and then bill the vendor? Just outta interest, does anyone know how much a small 2metre wide crossover would cost? Many Thanks TC Re: Crossover missing 2Jan 18, 2007 1:08 am hmmm... I know someone here will know the ins and outs of this one. I'm just wondering though... a crossover (as far as I'm aware) is usually concerning the strip of land next to the verge that is actually council property. A "crossover" is the section where your driveway crosses this strip of land. So what is this "crossover" in your estate exactly?
Usually you apply to council informing them of the type and size of the driveway you are going to place on the crossover with which you get a rebate from them as you are, in a sense servicing a part of their land. Are you sure it's not a rebate from the land company to pay your crossover when you are about to inhabit the house? Sorry for asking the silly questions there To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9862 Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11273 Yes, the builder is required to finish the wall. What else have you missed? 1 3361 |
