Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 18, 2008 2:37 pm We are looking to get rid of our spare queen size bed and replace it with a smaller bed to create more space in our spare room.
i saw something a while ago that was basically a single bed with another "bed" underneath it that could be pulled up to create a double bed (both had a single mattress each). It was basically a trundle bed where the bottom part rolled out - but could then be raised to create a double (so where the wheels are there are legs that fold out). http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/McReidy23/eclipse_002.jpg Can anyone shed any light on (a) what these are called and (b) where I can get one? I have just about exhausted all possibiliteis that I can think of. Mods - sorry if this isn't in an appropriate category - couldn't see where else to put it!!! Re: Need help finding a spare bed (quirky post I know) 2Nov 18, 2008 2:41 pm It’s an interesting question …..I’m confused about what you mean!

Just found this on ebay - more like it: http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/McReidy23/9e37_1_b.jpg Re: Need help finding a spare bed (quirky post I know) 5Nov 18, 2008 3:09 pm I was looking into those on ebay for my spare room/toy room.
I also looked into and got the plans on how to build a wardrobe/wall bed - it lifts up onto the wall when not in use. I ended up getting a sofa bed with an innerspring mattress!! That is EXACTLY what I am after - I just didn't realise they would come with that price tag - was thinking more around the $300 - $400 mark.. Re: Need help finding a spare bed (quirky post I know) 9Nov 19, 2008 1:04 pm Ikea has a day bed 'Hemnes' that is a day bed, single bed with storage underneith and also converts to a double bed. its $599, i'm considering getting one for the spare room as it takes up less space, or maybe a sofa bed.
