Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 14, 2008 11:06 pm At the moment we are leaning towards building with Dennis Family Homes. Staff have been friendly and helpful, and of all the builder displays we have visited, they seem the most amenable to modifying plans etc.
Can anyone relate their experiences with this builder? They don't seem to be mentioned very much throughout this forum. I notice that when it comes to color selections, M3tricon have Studio M, Burbank - The Edge, Simonds - The Gallery and Porter Davis - Hopetoun Interiors. What does Dennis Family use? I see no mention on their website, I'm wondering if our selections may be limited if they don't have a big showroom like the other above mentioned builders. Thanks in advance, J. Re: Dennis Family Homes & Color Selections 2Nov 14, 2008 11:38 pm Jennifer,
I was originally with M3tricon, yeah they have a big selection centre. But you are still limited to their suppliers. After pulling the pin with M I am going with a smaller builder. I haven't done selections yet, but I'm tipping they don't have much of a selections centre. But they have something more valuable.... flexibilty. I've had to make a few phone calls, done a bit of leg work, but my builder is letting me go out side the square... go away from standard. I'm tipping DFH may have a degree of flexibilty as well. Don't be folloed by the big flashy selection centres.... they're just money traps anyway! Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Nothing fancy but you do get alot of choice from the standard inclusions. I didn't upgrade anything on the day because there were so many choices from the standard range. Mine is same as Joles - We did a lot of leg work but we enjoyed it so it was not an issue not to have a big one stop shop for selection They gave us who each of the suppliers were and we worked of that list and made our selection. What we got was flexibility and that was very important for us. Cheers beegee How much are you ahead in payments compared to where the build is at? Have you fully drawn down the loan? 5 11917 Hi everyone, Newbie renovator here, after some advice for combining our family room in the picture and the alfresco and make a larger family room.
