Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 13, 2008 7:17 pm As most of you know, I terminated my building contract with M3tricon just before site start.
Just over 16.5k had been paid to this time. I emailed that I was terminating on 7th October. They called on the 17th of October wanting to know what was going on and claimed the email hadn't been recieved. Even though it clearly shows in my outbox. So I again emailed through the statement of termination on 17th October. I was told it would be fast tracked due to what had been done up to that point by M3tricon. It is now the 13th of November. My patience has worn thin. I don't want to have to keep chasing them up and letting this drag on. How much we get back wil dictate the size of our garage extension. So I need to at least find out an amount so I can move forward with my new builder. Am I best just to get a lawyer and be done with it? I'm tired of M3tricon... sorry for the launguage... but I just can't be f*cked anymore... they've worn me out. I'm on my second six pack for the night and even that's not helping. Any advice? Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Is it time to get a lawyer? YES! 2Nov 13, 2008 7:30 pm When we cancelled our contract it took 3.5 months to get our deposit back and that was just the guarenteed amount that they give bcak when you pull out...so they didn't even have to do any sums.........
There excuse they only do the cheques every 3 months..........what a load of bull, but anyway we sent an email every few days. and made sure they new we were not giving up......... Re: Is it time to get a lawyer? YES! 3Nov 13, 2008 7:32 pm I'm prepared to go further with a few things. There's things that happened that were at the very least " unethical"... at the very worst... something else.
I won't go into details but that's why we pulled out.... I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Is it time to get a lawyer? YES! 4Nov 13, 2008 7:37 pm Sounds to me like a lawyer would be a good idea then......even just to run a few things by. Some of them are free for your first appt......... Re: Is it time to get a lawyer? YES! 5Nov 13, 2008 7:37 pm ohh jo...sorry to hear ur *still* having troubles with M...grr....u'd think they would pull up their socks already!
I don't know much about lawyers and whether they can help, but maybe someone here will be able to answer that question better. Good luck! p.s. how are Beryl and the gang? Re: Is it time to get a lawyer? YES! 7Nov 13, 2008 7:42 pm Oh Newbies... I was up there the other day. Beryl is still hanging on... my dog Luca pees on her everytime we go up there... not the others. Only Beryl!
Ted is getting taller! But to the matter at hand, the unethical things..... well in the end they were going to be free. But only cos I called them out on things. And caused a fuss. One particular thing I know has happened to other customers.... if it's not picked up, it's hard to prove, but it costs the customer a pretty penny for nothing. I'm being very careful what I say....... I would have been happy to walk away with an amount I had in my head... the longer it goes on the more I want back! Maybe just call them and give them a timeframe that you want it all sorted by, tell them that if they dont comply that they will be hearing from your lawyers. Also be sure to email them to - so it is all documented. Good luck My karma ran over your dogma Re: Is it time to get a lawyer?
