Just wondering if anyone knows whether there's a law/code re: light switch location?
We've been disputing the location of our HT light switch.
It was originally (as per our plan attached to our contract) placed inside the HT but for later on moved outside of the HT room (unfortunately, we didn't notice it when we asked for a correction to the electrical plan).
During our walk through, our SS justified the new location saying...
there's a code that requires light switches to be located within a meter of reach from the entry door.
I wonder if anyone has heard this?
Even so, isn't it that they should still inform us that they are going to move the light switch outside?
This became a problem when we put in two sliding doors to the HT room... thus, SS was saying the position of the light switch would be too far from the entry doors...
Hope there's an electrician in this forum to shed light on this..
thanks!
